He understands how to keep himself in between the defender and QB, which is what you are asking from a center. He doesn't have to pancake guys. Saw one play where he gave up pressure and recovered really well. Dare I say, given his pedigree and leadership that he reminds me a bit of Ben Jones? Another guy who wasn't the strongest or most athletic, but was a leader, a technician, and tenacious. I bet he's the starter before the end of the year. Alcibiades Posted April 26 Report Share Posted April 26 Yeah, I think center is probably the best position on the team (certainly on the offense) where technique can make up for lack of pure athleticism. It's often where the least athletic/strong but best technician/smart guy goes. I think that's who this is, and that's a hugely valuable thing to have.
