Tate could be a superstar. The Titans obviously saw things they liked. He's a difficult projection imo though because he never really had to play as the Alpha, and so it's not easy to project just how good he'll actually be at the next level. Having said that, if you listen to the TN coach on the radio this morning talking about how they had the plan of stopping Smith and making Tate beat them, and then he torched them, it makes you feel a lot better about it. I'm not trying to poo-poo on the pick. As I said, there's a lot to like, I'm just trying to keep us grounded here. I don't think it's a realistic projection to say things like he's AJ Green reincarnated.

He obviously has that Eddie George ability to get guys fired up around him, he won the offensive MVP award in the Rose Bowl as a center, and he won a national championship. I get that some of his traits may have limited his upside in the eyes of evaluators, but he shouldn't have lasted until the 6th round, even as a center. I see that alot on NFL.com. there is a paragraph summary of the player which mostly paints a positive light, then it's, "he'll be a good WR5" or "TE4" or some other position which seems completely meaningless and does nothing to help the team. Just say, "he sucks" and save everyone some time. OnsideKick

Maybe he’ll win the job in camp but for now you have to assume it’s going to be Schlottman. Or maybe Slater if they have him competing at C instead of RG. Borgonzi even mentioned the value late in the draft for late rounders at the interior OL Pretty sure he helped draft Trey Smith. Smith fell for other reasons, but centers fall anyways. Coogan has quite a few flaws. He's top heavy and doesn't have a great base. He isn't overly athletic either. He's the starter imo game 1.
