The Titans still don't have a true #1 WR or a true #1 edge. They also have a top 5 draft pick to potentially fill one of those needs. Waiting until next year means likely trying to fill one with a pick more likely to be in the 10-15 range than the top 5 pick they currently hold. I have no idea if they project any of the top edge or wr prospects capable of filling one of those needs, but if they do they'd be negligent if they didn't consider them strongly at #4 regardless of who else they currently have on the roster.

Those positions also cost money especially if you add LT into the fray as well.  And that’s where the entire “positional value” argument takes place particularly when you are picking at 4 .

Combine that with this is a good wr and edge class makes it beneficial to go wr then edge or edge wr at 4 and 35.

I’m trying to figure out which one is more optimal combo with regards to this class.

I’d probably lean towards edge first then WR in round 2 but you could easily flip flop them .  Also seems like the edges in round 2 have more issues (arm length, less than stellar testing numbers).

Lawrence and young are the only 2 i really like. Both have good size and production. Lawrence tested like crazy. Young had much better tape against the run though.

I think generally speaking you're more likely to hit on a stud WR in round 2...or maybe even 3 if you get lucky...than you are a stud edge. Especially with how this class looks. If Bailey is there at 4 I think you run to the podium. If he's not then I think it gets interesting. If you think Tate is a solid #1 (maybe not Malik Nabors, but a top 15 type of guy) then I think he'd be hard to pass up. If not, Love is not a bad option either. Reese I'm not sure about. I'd probably take him over Bain (who I wouldn't touch at #4), but he's kind of an unknown with so few reps at edge.

I like the idea of loading up on TE this yr over WR.  I love Stowers at TE but I think 35 might be rich but the dude is going to be the best TE in this class.

I watched every Vanderbilt game last year and was super impressed with TE Stowers.  He has a knack for getting open in mud-field.  He knows how to use his body and catches everything anywhere close to him.

I don't see him in many mocks so far, and will be a major addition to any team drafting him.

I feel like this could be a great draft for TEs. You have:

Stowers

Endries

Sadiq

Roush

Kitselman

My two favorites are Endries and Kitselman (who might be UDFA). I know Kitselman doesn't have the production (and some dropsies), but I watched a lot of Vols games and that dude reminds me of Kelce.

Its a strange year for the WR vs edge debate. Most of the time I would 100% agree you take the edge and grab a wr in the 2nd round. The thing that makes this draft strange is there are no clear holy crap edge or wr candidates(Tackle either for the matter). Yes, as much as I love tate and think he is absolutely worth a top 10 pick and would run to podium he is no megatron must have him guy. Between bailey being stiff, bain's baby arms and reese being mostly projection you have some stuff you have to worry about.

Wr and edge are both very deep this year though, to the point some first round talents should slip to the top of the 2nd. These are not guranteed game changers but should be plug and play with good+ upside.

I think it is safe to say whichever way you go in round one there will be someone worth picking from the other postion.

I keep saying it but they should find the LT of the future THIS year.

I still really like caleb tiernan, he has short arms and absolutely bombed his 3 cone at his proday but the dude is huge and moves really well on tape. If they can get him in the 4th that would be fantastic. He likely goes in the 3rd and does well for someone like my guy Rosengarten did(fucking ravens).

ya, I was speaking directly to the wr/edge at 4 and 35 back to back idea.

You can't get both in the first two rounds if you dont draft both lol

I came away unimpressed with Young.  It was kind of meh.

One guy I liked but not at 35 as a DPR/wide 9 fit was Derrick Moore out of Michigan.  He’s strictly an outside guy but he consistently got pressure off the edge.  I think he’s supposed to go in early 3rd round.

The thing with zion is he is more suited for the edge spot we have filled already. Lawrence is by far and away my guy for 35. I am intrigued by the idea of a pair of good edge setters and just trying to collapes the pocket with pure violence from all 4 linemen.
