ctm
Positional value aka contract cost. Would you rather draft a top WR/CB and then pay a RB/S in free agency or just the opposite? Cost aka positional value....easy answer.
Face
I think we really need to see what happens in FA. FWIW Saleh has heavily used bigger edges inside on 3.rd down. They traded for Keion White last year & drafted Mykal Williams & used both extensively inside on ossing downs. He may see Bain in this role. Oñ the flip side I can see us signing John Franklin-Myers who he had with the Jets whose an edge in base & kicks inside at 6’4 280 or so. So if we sign a guy like him who should have a reasonable contract & then say a Boye Mafe I can see Bailey being the guy as a 3rd down pass rusher for a year or two when JFM or a similar guy move inside. Popular Post cenj
I'm a big proponent of investing on the DL, so I would also have no problem double-dipping at EDGE. There are some interesting prospects after the 1st who could be more one-dimensional pure rushers. Heavily investing in guys who can consistently get to the QB is the best way to make the LBs and DBs look much better. Why sideline him for Bain in the middle? But he doesn't breakup the pocket on pass plays.

I think I'd rather sign Hall in FA, sign a CB or 2 in FA, draft Tate and Thieneman early, draft a CB later. If they don't sign Hall then draft one of the 3 or 4 RB at the start of the 4th What they do at edge can change at least 2/5ths of that.

They will be taking a DL/Edge guy with at worst a second round pick. The numbers (or lack of ) just dictate. You are not solving that entire issue via FA. Hall isn’t available so substitute Walker or Ettiene. We don’t need a S. There’s almost zero chance they don’t sign a CB for decent money . Going by just Borgonzi draft history , I’d guess for CB to be a later pick and honestly via “value” this year, might not be a bad option. The only thing that almost everyone can agree is that there will be major upgrades to the WR room in FA or via trade. Bongo59
I still think Sweat and Gray are going to be monsters in this D. Really do. I want a deep DE rotation so if we go old guys we need three. I still like Hendrickson because he has low tread wear. Reminds of Neil Smith at the end with Denver. Same thing with Haley in Dallas. I can see him really doing well in this DL. Bongo59
One guy I do not want is Chubb. I think he is a JAG.

I'm doing my best not to get locked into any one player too so I don't get too hyped or disappointed. 1 hour ago, rns90 said: We don’t need a S. Woods is 30 and Hooker is 28. Thieneman would be an upgrade over both of them to pair with Winston. I understand if they don't want to do it since it isn't technically a need so I'm not expecting it. But if they did it I would expect them to move Hooker to make it worth doing.

Woods isn’t relevant at this point . But they just signed Hooker last September to an extension and Winston will presumably start so spending a second on another S is a weird use of finances/draft currency.
