We still don't know why he was fired, but I'm sure it's knowable.. from what I read, he tried to advance Stroud to the next level of the offense, and that didn't work out.. maybe there was some confrontation between Stroud and Slowick??

Restructuring Ridley is pretty clearly the best option for both sides imo

I would move forward and hire Bobby Slowik now so you have a back-up plan already baked in.

I'm kind of partial to Bobby Slowik, CJ Stroud had an amazing rookie year under Bobby and has since regressed.

Seems really unlikely to me that they'd pivot from an old head Erhardt/Perkins Coryell mix guy to a young Shanahan guy.

refresh my mind, what happened the first 2 years in Buffalo, was Allen just too raw?

He was pretty bad his first 2 years...to the point many were convinced he was a bust. He was inaccurate and a turnover machine. He made drastic improvement between years 2 and 3.

I think Jennings is going to resign too. SF has Pearsall (who can't stay healthy) and ?????. Aiyuk is a goner there.

Yeah, but something about the way he talked in an interview about his memories and love for Santa Clara and his future with the 49ers, he made sure to mention 2nd and 3rd homes and was intentional on naming Knoxville as one of those.

Maybe Nashville + Saleh is close enough to lure him this way.

Jennings isn’t a sexy choice at all, but the Titans need talent and he may be a nice glue piece for the offense. Otherwise, I don’t care much. It’s a lean season. But if he can bring 8-900 yards to this offense plus his better than average scoring production, that would be good.

Kliff Kingsbury (we don't want Art Smith!) lol

I'll be so surprised if Kingsbury doesn't end up in Baltimore.

That's what I remember they were saying on the radio yesterday about how Slowik was describing something related to some plays and Stroud said "oh yeah, we ran that at Ohio State" or something to that effect. Supposedly Slowik tore into him about how this isn't college. Paraphrased from what I remember.

I got the impression Stroud had that VY attitude of "can't tell me nuthin", but it could just have been Slowik being difficult. Idk.

What coordinators are left that match the Coryell branch? Garrett?

Dart's production since Daboll was fired did drop off a bit kind of like Ward's production got better after firing Callahan.  If Daboll had a positive affect on Dart, imagine how much he can do for Cam.  I think he's a close second to McDaniel even if McD's much more entertaining to observe.

Dart had 3 more concussions and lost Skattebo.

liking him even more. I also heard Slowik was always on CJ for a wider stance.

Cam doesn't seem as reckless as Dart.  Hopefully Saleh vetoes the risky plays and protects his QB1.

Sure, but Daboll wasn't exactly discouraging him from running head first into things and would call lots of QB runs after the concussion checks.

Classic coaching last ditch effort of fuck the players, i need to retain my job with a win... rather than thinking "if i hurt the QB i may get fired for sure". screams low level intelligence to me.
