... he was involved in too much beyond the OL. Just a gut feeling.

That's my conspiracy theory. More autonomy allowed bad decisions, qualities, attributes, personality or something to manifest in a way they don't when just the OL coach.

You know who else left at the same time?

Well obviously Brian had something to do with that.  But there's no doubt the OL played better.  Was Bill trying to do more on offense to help his son?  It's entirely possible and that could've impacted his ability to coach the OL.

Brian had Bones leading team film sessions!

Personally, I think the Callahans' (plural) tried to implement a scheme (blocking and passing) that was far too complicated with too many moving parts to mesh well with the coaching staff and a super young roster. You saw immediate improvement, and some growth even, because McCoy did basically the only thing he could do, simplify everything and stick to the basics that they knew they could actually execute.

Supposedly it was dumbed down from the prior year to boot.

There's a scenario where Schwartz ends up going to SF and Saleh brings in Gus Bradley to be his non-play calling DC, in a similar role that he had with the 49ers last year. Have listened to Saleh talk extensively about how Bradley complements him because their styles are so different and he's such an expert on positional technique / details.

Obviously the other guys are more likely, but that can't be ruled out.

If I'm Buffalo - I make a full court press and write a blank check to hire Schwartz as Joe Brady's DC.

Define transformed. Had success with guys drafted outside the top 10?

I'm simply saying that he's benefited from stacked talent and that maybe he's overrated.

With an elite DC, Buffalo will start winning SBs.

While I think it’s funny to not give a guy any credit for helping turning top 10 picks into HALL OF FAME caliber players lol,  I’ll play along:

Wyatt Teller - 6th round pick who he picked up off the scrap heap.

Ethan Pocic was considered a major bust before he got with Callahan.

Dawand Jones 4th round pick that fell off a cliff as soon as Bill left.

Doug Free was a 4th round pick and considered a liability until Callahan got to Dallas.

Ronald Leary was undrafted.
Morgan Moses was a third round picks.

Chase Roullier was a 6th round pick.

And that’s all before I got bored of listing lol

He's been coaching in the league since 1995. He started coaching college before I was born. Of course you can find success stories. The volume of coaching makes that easy. I know he absolutely shit the bed in the Nashville this year. We saw more improvement when he left than when he got here. His successes in the last 10 years have been with solid OL prospects.

But, I respect your opinion more than mine on this subject. So, I'll take your word for it.

I’m not saying take my word for it. I’ve never claimed to be an OL expert.

But I think you should take the word of everyone else who actually watches and studies offensive line play for a living lol
