He was certainly up for HC opportunities, but the other thing here is that going to a different team and coordinating an offense will get him more credit that continuing to work with Reid, who gets the lion's share of credit for the Chiefs offense. I would rather have Mike McDaniel, assuming that he and Saleh can mesh well. It hink McDaniel is an innovator. But, I also think that Mike McDaniel may be difficult to work with. I think Nagy will be a very solid hire for OC this year. Of course, he may want to wait to make sure no one is going to offer him a HC opportunity. Also, as speculated i thought the next HC needed to provide specification on how he would continue offensive system progression and coach development for the case when the OC is hired as a head coach in the future.
