Titans Get The #4 Pick In The Draft

What was the blunder? McGovern resigned with BUF. Not Borg's fault. That Linderbaum contract was ridiculous. They could still resign Zeitler.

Zeitler is a short term patch job now and if you go back to the end of last season was really pushing through some stuff to get on the field every Sunday, can we really rely on Zeitler's body holding together being another year older.

Having major question marks at 2 starting OL spots entering the draft is not a good place to be.

Love immediately makes you a more explosive team. He's going to add 10-20 TDs a year through the run and pass game. He's going to upgrade your pass protection. He's going to force teams to account for

The Jaguars gave up what again for Travis Hunter? This notion we should take less capital is kind of mind boggling. If a team wants to move then they need to pay the full price.

I feel like there's still FA's that can help us after the draft that would get the OL to as good or better than last season even without the draft.

Having a starting C that has never played more than half a season as a starter in the NFL at that position is a major risk to take with a young QB who is still trying to find his feet.

Waiting till post draft to eat at the scraps of FA is not plan A for the offseason it is what happens when things haven't gone to plan earlier in the offseason.

It's not ideal but Its not bungled yet is all I'm saying. It's at a higher risk now, sure, but there are plug and play aging vets that can fill the holes and be better than last year if need be. We also have a shot in the 2nd/3rd/4th to immediately fill at least one of the needs long-term

Andre James and Ted Karras are 2 experienced vets still out there at C if needed for a year.

I think its fair to say things OL wise have not gone to plan so far this offseason.

I also hope Borgonzi doesn't get squeezed to a point he feels that he has to take one of the plug and play starting G at #35 if there are better options available.

I feel like the C would be the pick considering the options available in post draft FA and likely less options in the draft. But yeah, rather not be at 35

Seems that there might be some future starting C that can be had early on day 3 but if you want a day 1 starting G which Borgonzi seems to be toying with via their touch points with prospects during the pre-draft process they are playing chicken with the rest of the league if they think any of the top plug and play guys will be there at #66.

I think Zeiter will be back. So i think guard can be pushed to 4th round.  I like hurst in the 3rd but could go C there.   2nd I hope they get BPA - with whomever falls out of the 1st ppl thought wouldnt.

They've looked at a lot of late round OT's.

Read Easton Freeze today.  He is convinced that the FO/coaching staff chose not to bring Zeitler back.

I would have agreed with you before today .  They can get a starting level RG at the latest at pick 66.

That makes very little since tbh.

I actually went and reread it .  You’re kind of correct.  Freeze was talking out of both sides and I was kind of confused .

His stance is that if the Titans come out of the draft without a starting level RG then Zeitler is back on the table.

Still I’d prioritize the spot pretty early because Zeitler is 36.

I think in the 2nd - you take the bpa that falls. Someone will fall of out of the first and I think you be opportunistic.  WR, G, OT, Edge all seem possible there. Someone you think should be a first round pick- maybe even a mid 1st round pick can fall unexpectantly and at 35, you're at a great spot to grab someone.

Its also a good spot - if no one does fall- to trade back a bit and grab an extra pick.  I just think the fun can happen in the 2nd and I wouldn't want to commit to a need.

But I do think a G and or C is on the list somewhere in teh draft.

Then it just depends on who falls to you in the 3rd and 4th but I think 4th is the floor for a good IOL- either C or G.

I think they just take BPA in round 2.  It’s hard to get a feel for the WR because they haven’t really brought in second round type WR only guys who are expected to go earlier.

I think the pick in round 2 is a WR only if one of those late rd1 guys falls to them .

I don’t see an all offense draft either.  They will spend a premium pick on an edge rusher (Wyatt kind of says this).  I’d personally punt on ILB till round 4.  Since this is the one spot that Saleh can coach up.

I’d guess out of the top 3 picks (not ordered):

offensive playmaker, edge rusher ;  BAP out of our need areas, even nickel back.

Which is why no one should be opposed to them trading down in rd one or two

If we're waiting to take a RG at 66:

Vega Ioane

Chase Bisontis

Emmanuel Pregnon

Keylan Rutledge

There's a real risk all of those guys are gone by 66. Rutledge is a possibility of making it to 66 just because he plays RG, but we're not the only team that needs a RG.

That being said, what is the talent drop off from Rutledge? Borgonzi may not get a trade he likes well enough to move back and give himself the best chance to get one of those early guys.

So...

Gennings Dunker (3rd)

Dunker has inconsistent reactionary skills on an island, but his square power, fierce hands and aggressive mentality belong on an NFL field. He projects as a guard with starting potential and tackle flexibility.

Jalen Farmer (3rd/4th)

Farmer is an athletic boulder in pass protection and a bulldozer as a run blocker. He should continue to ascend with pro coaching. He has NFL starting-caliber ability, especially if he lands with a team that specializes in a downhill, smash-mouth run game.

Billy Scrauth (3rd/4th)

Schrauth is solid across the board. He has the athletic ability, play strength and demeanor to compete for NFL starting snaps (if he stays off the injured list and reaches his development potential). His game gives off Wyatt Teller vibes.

The rest of Brugler's list down to the first 5th round projected guy:

Febechi Nwaiwu (4th)

Logan Taylor (4th)

Kage Casey (4th/5th)

Beau Stephens (4th/5th)

Keagan Trost (5th)

Trost will need some mechanical tweaks for a move inside, but that shouldn’t be a major issue — he is a technique-focused blocker with steady feet and physical hands. His ceiling isn’t sky high, but the position flex only boosts his usefulness.
