The best compliment to Simmons is a pure edge guy who can pressure and force the QB to step up with Simmons collapsing the pocket

Didn’t the fake Mahomes Nebraska QB just transfer to Oregon too? Lol

"A player can change their mind and withdraw from the NCAA transfer portal, but their original school is no longer obligated to honor their scholarship or guarantee a roster spot, creating risk that they lose both if they don't find a new destination quickly." from AI.

This only relates entering the portal. How binding are announcements such as the Nebraska QB made and/or what are the confirming steps?

Going box saftey in the top 5 is nuts.

Some may disagree: "Caleb Downs is a generational talent at the safety position, drawing comparisons to greats like Eric Berry and Budda Baker. At 6’0” and 205 pounds, Downs possesses elite instincts and positional versatility that make him a game-changer for any defense. His football intelligence and rare athletic gifts set him apart, allowing him to align anywhere on the field from deep safety to slot corner to linebacker depth. He reads route combinations like a quarterback, takes flawless pursuit angles, and triggers downhill without hesitation. His versatility makes him a perfect fit in modern NFL schemes that require adaptive solutions to matchup problems. Downs thrives in disguise-heavy defenses that value interchangeable safeties, showcasing exceptional coverage ability and physicality against the run."

That was from one of the NFL draft scouting sites; if they use AI... I'm fine with that. I'm not going to be pretentious and try and write my own player profile.

Why do you have this compulsion to be viewed as the Expert on Everything Everywhere?

Give it a rest. It is tiresome...

Well that sucks.

Very bold decision from Moore would of been incredibly difficult to turn his back on $50 million guaranteed.

Now presents a potential dilemma for Borgonzi as there is a very real chance the Jets go EDGE at pick #2 now and if the Cardinals do the same at pick #3 there is no guarantee Borgonzi loves the third EDGE at pick #4.

I think it's likely he was informed he wouldn't go as high as the media is projecting. If that's the case it's unlikely the Jets were going to take him at #2 anyway.

Absolutely a tough break for us. We can now shift to hoping for the off chance that this Ty Simpson injury/sickness campaign lands with NFL front offices

In a league that has selected Trey Lance and Anthony Richardson in the top 4 I find it hard to believe in the current QB landscape that Moore would not be a hot commodity. It might not of been at the Jets but there are plenty of other teams lurking that would of made him a very high pick.

Perfectly fine taking a below market value trade down if it means adding another day 2. Could also just take BPA even if it at a position of lower viewed value (RB-Love, S-Downs).

Maybe, but I have a hard time believing his agent would not have explained the massive financial risk unless they were really just that determined to avoid the Jets.

Not if said Safety is Ed reed, TP, or Sean Taylor.  Many think he is.  Kyle Hamilton and Fitzpatrick play at S has many teams interested.  TN does not need that type of S due to scheme but for sure there are several teams out there who need the robber S.  Sean Payton is one.  So is Dennis Allen.  Neither have had that player in a long time.  They are rare.  Barron got drafted in top five for that role in TB and busted.
