Interesting considering the collapse that defense had.

GMs must not blame him for the awful defenses he’s coordinated the past 3 years or so.

He seems just like an uninspiring choice , also again from the CIN tree.

AAS is a very good owner. Not sure why this keeps getting rehashed. Vrabel, Robinson, Carthon, and Callahan all deserved to go for various reasons.

Strength of schedule always suggests someone is uncomfortable accepting what they've seen and they're begging for a reason to believe what they want anyway.

I'm sure when he finally does stumble somewhat in NE (as opposed to dominating the schedule they were given) it'll be all the evidence needed to "prove" everything else was a mirage. In reality, time will tell and, based on results so far, those still betting on a reality check for his supporters, not "us", is likely to be disappointed.

That disappointment still won't cancel out the fact he didn't want to be here and actively forced his way out. AAS still wanted him to stay, after all. Was she wrong to not let him have his way? Or do you not believe any of that narrative?

And after seeing the other posts, I'll also agree to not go further with the Vrabel stuff so if you want to respond in DM or not respond at all that's cool.

Best case scenario is that he just needed a change of scenery and to go back to New England and it wouldn't have worked out even if he stayed ... and there's reason to believe that's true ...

It's overstated, as most things are on TR. It's a defense mechanism to categorically absolve the team (as many do) and to write it off as unavoidable (like the AJB trade) but it's far from baseless.

Without knowing shit from shinola on most coaching prospects, I guess I can see why Stefanski intrigues people.

I vote we hire the good coach, whoever that is. The good news is they seem to have a good process and people in place. I'm sure AAS can be convinced on almost anyone and I hope that's the entirety of her involvement. Let the football people do the football stuff.

Correct.

You guys remember before we hired Vrabel that most were pretty certain that Josh McDaniels would be the guy and there was even some level of disappointment when it wasn't and was the "meathead" instead... turns out that Vrabel was absolutely the right choice

I don't know if he really wanted to be here or not. I don't think it's a stretch to think he preferred to be in Boston with his old buds. What I do know is he said or did something that Amy deemed a fire-able offense that had nothing to do with his record or ability to coach. She was pretty adamant about keeping him up until that point.

Define "most" and differentiate between what they thought would happen and what they wanted/thought should happen. Because I don't recall most wanting McDaniels.

Interesting that Saleh is the first of the playoff coaches that have received any type of interview request thus far.

Vance Joseph has already had multiple requests.
