Extend Simmons using a roster bonus instead of a signing bonus   Also, extend Skoronski early

Crazy part is Borgonzi didn't say anything bad or negative about him. In fact, he said he was a good player who was ascending in this league.

Total worthless bye week fact.   Should Borgonzi release Sneed/Ridley/Pollard/Woods this offseason the Titans will have at least double the effective 2026 cap space (nearly $120 million) tha

Im almost certain this team will make a heavy pus for Hall. I think he'll be interested in being here.

It'd be nice to have him here. I find it hard to believe the Jets wouldn't try to keep him, but the Jets aren't exactly operating with the most wisdom.

Borgonzi should sign (if they make it to FA)

- Colts WR Alec Pierce

- Bucs TE Cade Otton

- Jets RB Breece Hall

- Jets G/T Alijah Vera-Tucker (injury history might rule him out but really solid versatile player)

- Saints CB Alontae Taylor

- Ravens EDGE Dre'Mont Jones

- Chiefs CB Jaylen Watson

Solid list. Would add:

- Raiders ED Malcolm Koonce (might as well take a flier at a position of need to hopefully get the "year after, the year after, the ACL injury" bump)

- Browns RG Wyatt Teller

Perhaps not the best way to sort upcoming FAs necessarily, but to paint just how dire the FA class is now days/how teams keep talent, check out:

https://overthecap.com/free-agency

Which is sorted by current APY. Then glance at the age column. By my count, in the top 30, there are 5 players under 30 years of age.

Naturally, the better value FA signings will probably be those who hit the market after their rookie deals have expired, so way down the APY list due to rookie contracts, but gone are the days of stars hitting the market as they enter their prime seasons. The Titans may have to throw cash at the likes of Trey Hendrickson just to spend it.

There are issues in free agency with the lack of top end talent and a lot of cap space chasing the best guys.  This has been discussed here before.

Otoh, the bottom end of the Titans roster, maybe guys 25-50, is also very week.  It shouldn't be that hard in free agency to improve the depth at the bottom of the roster.  For example, I looked at the CB free agent list on Spotrac.  There are 35 guys available with 5 years or less of league experience.  If Borgonzi also wants to improve CB spots 4-6 (in addition to the top 3 spots) on the depth chart, then it shouldn't be that hard or expensive.

This is the way to go about it.

Whether it's 1-year prove it deals or short-term deals for experienced depth pieces, this is the smart route to take, especially on D/ST/OL. Don't blow the cap money on 2-3 overpriced FA's. They could churn 10 spots on the roster with guys under 27 going this route while still building the roster and trying to find some unpolished young players.

If there's an edge, corner, or offensive playmaker that makes sense, then maybe overspend on 1 and only 1. Then use the top 3 picks to address the rest of those impact positions.

I'll drop this here from last week with credit to @ctm
