What is McCreary worth in trade compensation?

Oh not much because his contract is up, maybe swapping a 6th for a 5th or something like that I'd think. Or an additional 5th/6th.

If you ship out McCreary after shipping out Brownlee you are completely clearing out the CB room. Sneed is 100% gone after the season as well.    I understand you want your own type of playe

I really want them to place Sneed on IR.    These should be his last snaps in a Titans uniform.

If they don't want to pay McCreary the big deal he's going to get after the season then I guess trade him for whatever you can get.    But if this time next year Brownlee and McCreary are pl

I agree, but are guys like Bronwlee and McCreary part of the roster problems? Seems risky to create more holes

Brownlee move already looks dumb. Trade a young player on a cheap deal for nothing at the first sign of conflict?

At some point building an abysmal roster has diminishing returns and hurts the development of our talent.

We've been over this. The team asked Brownlee to correct his technique and stop committing penalties, he refused then blew up behind the scenes. The belly aching over this move is absurd.

I understand you want your own type of players with certain measurables but getting rid of cheap young talent doesn't seem like it's worth it for very late round picks or swapping places late.

Exactly. I know you mentioned this about a month or so ago but I would extend Roger. He’s a smart, tough nickel who can cover. He’s also a real good run player & tackler. He’s a good player. Maybe he didn’t become quite as good as hoped, I know I loved the pick, but I guess the best way I’d out it is you want a lot more guys like Roger on your defense then not. He’s a winning type player…..

So some shitty coaches - who have either been fired or will be fired in a few months - talked our GM into trading a young talented player because he wasn't taking to their shitty coaching?  That doesn't sound like a GM who we can have any faith in to rebuild this roster.

Borganzi has control of the roster, thats his job to make those decisions. If he wins more than he loses, he'll be a good GM. Not sure what you are really trying to argue here.

QBs have a 110 passer rating against McCreary and he's giving up nearly 10 yards per reception. He's a JAG and has been since he got here.

Save the salary cap for better players down the road and get an extra day 3 draft pick for him.

Free agency has turned into a wasteland. You aren't getting quality talent in free agency anymore.

The better players are likely overpaid free agents like Ridley, Sneed and Cushenberry

I wouldn't have any issues if they signed McCreary to a team friendly short extention that paid him average money. I also don't give a shit if they trade him because he's a JAG and if Borgonzi can't replace players like McCreary, he'll be a bad GM.

Yes, and I disagree with this perspective. It is overly simplistic to me and knowing we had a coaching change perhaps there was opportunity to get things on board.

This trade, happening after what--week 3? To eschew a player that started plenty of games and exceeded draft position because why exactly?

Conflict?

Being critical is not "belly aching". Having an overly simplistic perspective of "you don't like it, leave it" is not something that works for me.

None of us truly know what happens behind the scenes. What we do know is that Brownlee had a fantastic game with the Jets.

This franchise has a pattern of losing talent to other teams. We want new leadership to correct that pattern, not continue it.

I do not want to see us continue to hemorrhage talent and watch the roster under perform and continue to widen the talent gap between us and other rosters.

I am not sure how we fix this problem, but the idea of continuing to lose the guys that are playing well, and go on to see them play exceptionally well elsewhere is not the solution.

Likely not much. NBs tend to go for very little even when they are very good. Id guess a 5th on the high end.

Brownlee was committing back breaking penalties and getting lit up each game. He refused to do what the coaches asked and he wasn't drafted by Borgonzi. Moving on from him is a big fat nothing burger. Titans fans all in love with projects and JAGS far too often. Way more than other fan bases do

The value of nickels has sky rocketed the last few years.

Chicago Bears' Kyler Gordon is the highest-paid nickel cornerback in the NFL after signing a three-year, $40 million extension. His deal surpassed previous high-water marks set by Jourdan Lewis and Taron Johnson, showing the rising market value for top slot defenders.

Paying a premium for nickel corners is a relatively new trend in the NFL, driven by the increasing use of spread offenses that rely on the passing game. The list of record-breaking deals in just the last couple of years demonstrates how quickly the position's value is escalating.
