rumor is Amy was the one demanding all the wr screens

Why hire Brinker and give him total control over football decisions if you're going to meddle and make decisions like this.    She's just like her dad if this story is true and there is litt

It's 1 of 32. It is going to attract a quality candidate. The bears fired Matt Eberflus midseason and hired Ben Johnson.    This whole notion of "no one is going to want the job" is bullshit

Relying on Borgonzi/Brinker to conduct the search instead of outsourcing. No real issue with that to be honest.

Usually you have an internal selection committee that works with the outsourcer. It would be weird if they weren't involved at every step.

Thats actually concerning if true. Of course if it came from Breer, cant trust anything he says.

Breer actually has a good source inside the Titans he was the one that reported all the names and interview timetables during the GM search, he was also the one that went deepest inside the decision with the #1 pick and the process behind it.

@Mythos27 this is what I was referring to yesterday. Myers and Spielman led the search for GM and then consulted with Peters to hire Quinn. These are the guys along with sports executive search firms that help pro sports owners find candidates for front office and coaching positions. Brinker probably won't speak on it publicly but I bet you they use a similar service to build a candidate list for the next HC. By the time it gets to AAS she's really just meeting the guy Brinker and Borgonzi select to make sure their personalities mesh.

Right. This is why I've held back from going too hard at AAS in some ways. She doesn't know football well enough to really evaluate these candidates and frankly, no one should expect her to because neither do most owners. Without knowing too many details, I would say that I hope they choose a different vetting agency going forward because clearly something isn't hitting right.

Might of been Breer or Fowler but one of the national guys reported this week that the Titans are not using a search firm for the HC search.

Am I just jumping to conclusions or does that imply the at least have a decent idea of who potential candidates will be? Obviously they can't know who will become available later but maybe they really like the current pool.

Honestly I would imagine Brinker and Borganzi do the heavy lifting even if they use a search firm which according to @AussieTitanFan08 sounds like they don't plan to. Regardless where you stand on the debate the past few days, we all agree AAS needs to hire better people to help her run the org. Hopefully Brinker and Borgonzi are just that.

This is a tough situation for me because I try hard to not have overly strong opinions on things I don't feel I know enough about and this is one of them but I know enough to be very concerned that we are not under strong leadership. I'm hanging all of my hopes for the future of the franchise on Borgonzi because if we can have a few more drafts like this past one, we'll climb out of the hole almost regardless of what Strunk does or doesn't do. Talent is king.

Would say at this point they would have a short list of guys who they want to be part of the process but this list will expand when potential candidates will also put their names forward and could be included in the process.

Sounds about right.

I’ve always suspected that  Brinker was Breer’s source.

Alright.. this getting stupid.  You dont know the inside workings of any NFL org unless its openly reported with clear pecking order and details on how they conduct business. They also arent run like like most large corporations. They are clearly MUCH more top heavy than you'd like to sell.

Many of us on the site are VPs or higher for all range of company sizes and just because you got let into a meeting for your company once doesn't mean every org works the same. You have no idea what "usually" is.

I'm sure plenty use search firms - but plenty dont.Us not using one with our lengthy timeline is not anything near concerning.

For us - Fish, Munch, Mularkey, Vrabel werent from search committees... Cally and Wiz were.  In our case it seems it doesnt work very well eh?

We can do GMs too if you want.

Now go do a chart and see superbowl winners or reocrd  cross referenced with search firms... hit rate is likely a blind dart throw

The pool of potential NFL head coaches is incredibly small and the candidates are well known within the NFL fraternity. I wouldn't expect search firms would provide much benefit other than saving them some administrative legwork reaching out to guys and coordinating interviews. It's not like they're going to uncover some hidden gem they didn't know about. I'm sure they either already know, or will soon know who their primary targets are barring someone unexpectedly becomes available later in the season.
