I could see McDermott wanting to take a year off - not totally convinced he'll jump right back into coaching in this cycle. Will be interesting to see what happens with him.

He was as inaccurate as it gets and couldn’t read a defense, they did a phenomenal job reworking his mechanics and developing the mental side of it

 

McDermott also made the playoffs with a bad roster and Tyrod Taylor. 
 

The in game stuff was bad but apart from that he did a good job. His biggest issue was the demon in Kansas City

It's hilarious to me that guys like McDermott, Harbaugh and Tomlin are the HCs on these teams a long time, clearly unperformed but because they had great QBs or won a SB 12-15 years ago it makes them top candidates. Why?

Agreed. They've been unfairly maligned for losing big games to the chiefs, but I've seen them lose some real head scratchers over the last 5 or 6 years. Never seen anything scheme-wise that makes McDermott stand out. He's probably an average coach with the best or second best QB in football.

At least with Tomlin he can get Kenny Pickett to the playoffs. He's essentially coach ocho who can pull one extra game out of his ass a year.

Already been reported he told his staff he wants to keep coaching

FWIW, Easton who has been predicting Saleh since October changed his to Nagy THIS MORNING lol

Noticed a very notable shift in his column. 

 

I wonder if they are using Saleh to polish up the Nagy hire given his interest in the job.
