Here's a 15 person shortlist right off the top of my head:

4 Offensive minds: Kingsbury, Nagy, Monken, Brady

4 Defensive leaders: Flores, Minter, Shula, Spags

4 Other names: McCarthy, Kubiak, McCown, Kafka

College leapers: Matt Campbell, Lincoln Riley

My dark horse: Kevin Stefanski

I think Stefanski could be on his way out in Cleveland and could benefit from a change in pace. The QB situation he was handed has really ham strung his ability to be successful. He could also be a coordinator target.

Of these names, I am not sure who I want. Nagy did better in Cleveland than I remembered, but it feels like people get the ick about him big time.

We obviously need help developing Cam but the leader of men DC types seem to be successful.

What about Mike LaFleur?

My thoughts.   I post infrequently nowadays but do want to do so tonight.  I have vacillated with each new entry into the HC/OC sweepstakes.  I studied what I could with available data on ea

FWIW on F Words Zach Lyons just said he heard the interview between McDaniel and the Titans went “very well”.

There is no way Harbaugh is going to be released.

I don't think its likely but l said earlier, there is a lot of noise locally the team has reached its ceiling with him and that they may use an injury plagued season to make a change.

I think Kingsbury is ready. He's far enough removed from the mistakes in Arizona, and he's gotten back to OC duties w/young QB.

A few accolades that people forget about:

Helped Case Keenum set records at Houston (quality control)

Avg 50 pts and 600 yds per game at Houston (OC)

Johnny fucking Manziel - led SEC in rushing, passing, scoring (OC)

Promoted walkon freshman Baker Mayfield to starting QB at TTech (HC)

Patrick Mahomes - enough said (HC)

Note: Most of Kingsbury's NFL HC years were the weird Covid years. As OC in Washington, he helped Daniels set records, including 2nd most points in a single season by the team.

Watch the Commanders tonight. See what Kingsbury does. He makes Mariota look like a decent spot starter at QB. The Commanders dropped 41 on the Raiders a few weeks ago without Daniels...

Kingsbury is interesting. He was solid in Arizona before that awful season. Similar to Nagy, where you can point to some measure of success on his record. He was a surprise/trendy hire coming from college but had to be seen as at least somewhat successful getting Zona to the playoffs once.

The problem with him is the teams he coached were undisciplined and had a bunch of penalties and he apparently had a bad relationship with Kyler. Do we trust he learned from that lesson and has picked up the "leader of men" type qualities from Dan Quinn?

I don't think there will be a slam dunk hire from quality or fit perspective.

Worth a read. Not sure all of this is his fault. Certainly an option.
