I don’t think Callahan can call plays and manage a game. He hasn’t proven he can do either much less both. Something needs to change. He looks a like deer caught in headlights. He is conservative when

That's not why. It leaves the coordinators in place and causes the least disruption until they can hire a HC in the offseason

Is Fassel ready to lead a team. Especially one potentially in the middle of a season? He is the best coach but has he been viewed as a head coach candidate?

Might as well give him a shot at finishing out the season. We've gone from worst to first (not literally) when it comes to our Special Teams unit. It's apparent players respond to him.

Make him the interim HC before Kliff Kingsbury takes over next season.

If you think keeping Callahan is a better option after what we just witnessed... again... I don't know what to tell you. There aren't any great options here but protecting Ward's career is the strongest argument for getting rid of Callahan immediately, not the other way around. He's taken 15 sacks already this season and he's had to overcome stupidity to get anything going whatsoever. I haven't seen a single game where Callahan has made it easier on the QB. I've seen several games where he's made it unnecessarily difficult.

You think the sacks are entirely on the HC? Moore is one of the culprits for all the sacks and he was the highest priced FAs we signed.  What I blame Callahan for is not coming up with a better offensive plan to offset the Oline deficiencies. Short quick passing game, screens, bootlegs. Everything is taking too much time to develop. His game management is bad. I hoped it was going to get better. Firing a coach 4 games in screams of the shit that got us in the position.

I keep seeing Cam's face etched in my brain, looking toward the sideline all the time, just waiting for the right damn play to get called in to him.  I'll probably be dreaming about the shit tonight!

I'll probably be dreaming of Cam tonight as well! Imagine the dream we could have if we laid down and dreamt together!

I understand that concept and I partially agree but  I just am not convinced that it's the right path forward 4 games in.

I'm just going to drop this here from 2 weeks ago. I thought it'd take longer, but Borgo might be giving him an ultimatum tomorrow - change shit or move on.

Normally I'd say this is a stupid ass idea, but I think Cally gets the big picture while having some ability to call plays. He can't do both well, at least not at the moment.

He needs to give up some reign somewhere on his staff and/or get a true AHC. I don't think Brinker or Borgonzi will force anything on him, just giving him enough rope to hang himself if he doesn't get things cleaned up.

There's my week 1 overreaction take.

Also, Cam is going to be really good really soon, especially if Borgonzi can get this roster up to par.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.

I don't think no quality HC will want to come here if we fire the HC after 3 weeks. At the same time, fans are absolutely done with Callahan and keeping him around is absolutely toxic. These imbeciles should have cleaned house when they fired Ran.

We're in trouble as a franchise. We're literally running Cam into the ground and now he's going to regress in his rookie season due to the fact he's going to have a totally different staff midway through the season.

McCoy as OC.

The problem is Bill Callahan is a known bitch and he probably quits with his son. There goes your QB coach to calling plays and your OL coach. Brian wouldn't be missed but you could get Cam murdered.

But yeah it's time.

That's the biggest risk. If you fire Brian, Bill's gone and now you've got a gotdamn debacle.

We're in a real pickle.

He can go with his son I am not impressed with the job he did in TN

I get it, but in fairness, it's not like we've got a load of talent to work with. I haven't been impressed with the OL buildout by the FO (past or present)
