From what I've seen the guy had no registered political affiliation. So far it's like I thought, this has little to do with actual politics and a lot to do with guns being so readily available that absolute psychos have easy access to them.

I find that hard to believe. Surely there are people who have spoken out more strongly against Israel than Kirk. Last I heard, he was about to have a conversation with Saagar Enjiti from breaking points so that Saagar could help him see the case against supporting Israel. Sounds to me like he was ideologically on the side of Israel but was getting enough push-back from his young base to re-consider and was kind of on the fence. A rational assassin doesn't kill someone for that.

 

My guess is that this is a case of obssesive fixation from someone in already in a pretty fucked up mental space. My GUESS is that the killer leans right or at least watches a good bit of right-wing content because what self-respecting leftist watches enough Charlie Kirk to think about him during their daily life.

Good lord. I did not think that I had to clarify that no one meant people that matter and I would actually hear from. In this very thread while talking to maybe Titandan, I made it pretty clear the opinions of randos in comment sections don't mean shit to me. Maybe you saw me say that and are conveniently ignoring it or maybe you didn't see it. Either way, I clarified and rather than take it as a clarification, you're portraying it as a  backpedal. I gave you very clear, examples of how people that matter on either side are talking about this issue and because you can't deny that I am correct, you're choosing to paint me as dishonest or disingenuous.

 

The conversation is about bringing down the temperature in this moment. I have not denied that people on the left have engaged in that rhetoric. What I'm disputing is your claim that there are prominent people on the right calling for peace, calm, and pulling back on on that type of rhetoric right now.
