With their defense, that may have been the absolutely worst team to draw to start the season, especially with the altitude. 

The defense was a pleasant surprise and if some more pass rush can be added next off season, it could be really good behind Wilson. 
 

I agree with a lot of people that say BC was concerning yesterday.  I’m not out yet at all, but he didn’t make things easier for Cam to succeed.  It’s too early and that defense was really good yesterday.  The play calling was conservative when it should have been aggressive and vice versa.  I believe he’s got the entire season to see what he can do with the offense and he’ll show improvement and the offense will get better.  First games of the year usually are not good predictors for anything. 
 

It’s way too soon to be talking about another HC as the absolute best thing for the team is for BC to keep the reins and be successful.  Having said that, if the defense keeps playing well, they won’t have to look far down the sidelines to find the next guy.  Would keep at least a semblance of consistency with a young promising qb still learning.

Maybe we bring in someone as his 'assistant' with the offense.  In reality, he's another Brinker.  He would help with the scheme and assist with the game plans/play calls.  If bc began a series at the end of a first half with a call like he made game1, he could help him think it through.   

 

His main job is development of Ward and help bc with situational play calling.

You would think that person would be Holz in this situation or the guys upstairs.  The fear is that BC is the person you’re talking about that would have made the good “assistant” instead of the one wearing the big headset.

Since he’s already hired and Cam seems to like him, the hope is that BC develops into a much better in-game manager very quickly.  Hopefully he’s not just good at the “offensive assistant” part and in over his head as a HC.

I think Callahan is going to have to figure out how to just get out of the way. Ward was flipping plays and changing routes on like the first drive.

There may be a lot of truth to this as Ward progresses.  From what we’ve seen thus far, I have no doubt he could become an on field coach ala PM. At some point in the next 2 years, if BC is still here, I could see Cam running more of the show and BC along for the ride.
