All that was stated was the organization gamed out all scenarios but determined early on they wanted to retain Callahan. Now you can argue that was the wrong move but acting like the team or some within it wanted to fire Callahan is completely made up nonsense. He was always well connected. It serves him well to be known as the one guy against Callahan right now. On offense they started the year with a diminished but still capable Tannehill and Derrick Henry on offense. Turns out having a top 10 player in the league on offense can help. Henry scored half of all the offensive touchdowns that season with 16. We still ended the season as the 28th offense in points scored and 30th in yards. Below are the records of the teams we beat early in the year before the wheels fell off, Note how none of them have a winning record. 6-11 4-12-1 8-8-1 4-12-1 3-13-1 5-12 8-9 So to recap, we beat the worst teams in the league (combined record of 38-77) while being objectively one of the worst offenses in the league despite having a 1st ballot hall of fame RB. If the limited "success" was due to coaching then what happened the second half of that year? What happened to the good coaching for all of 2023? I'm supposed to believe Vrabel forgot how to coach. Man please, miss me with all of this revisionist, out of context history. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/oti/2022.htm Not to mention running game and a decent defense is a great way for medicore to poor teams to compete consistently. The problem is- in a win now league- it becomes a crutch that most teams are not willing to suffer enough to stop using. You win more close games, you get more medium draft picks instead of top talent and you stay mediocore. That was vrabel and the Titans before this latest change. Now they are suffering as they build talent. Its what has to happen to become a superbowl competitive team. The hope is the offense starts clicking mid to late in this season, so they can spend more capital on defense this offseason .If it doesn't, then more capital will need to be used on offense until it starts to click. If you bypass that- imo- you're likely to end up in mediocre purgatory. I have no problem with a losing season as they build back the talent on the team. The trick and problem (whether they stick with BC or not) is maintaining any continuity while doing so. Bc losing brings heat and its hard to maintain stability and continuity during that type of heat. SuperFreak90
The media believes our only win comes at Raiders or at Browns. I just don't see it happening.

TheBukafax Posted yesterday at 12:03 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 12:03 AM So much crying over Callahan in this thread. Don’t y’all realize he’s a first time HC with a super duper bad roster? Give him time your heartless fucks. IsntLifeFunny

Everyone's getting emotional... and I kind of don't blame them. I think we regressed in almost all areas since last year except for special teams. Don't get me wrong. I'm glad we're tanking but I do not want to be one of those teams that free agents avoid based on a losing culture and I feel like we might get there soon if our coaching staff refuses to show some leadership and fight. I dont want him fired, i just see the writing on the wall. This is ward vs trade back all over again. Now you may ask why do I not want him fired? I just dont think right now is going to do anything beneficial for the team. With or without him I dont expect much of a change in things for ward, and changing coaches can only hurt our chances at a top 3 pick atm. May as well ride this turd to its destination than rock the boat and accidentally screw up our best chance at turning this around when he is gone. titanruss, and DCTitan

If they rightfully come to the conclusion that Callahan is stunting Ward's growth they need to fire him. Draft position means nothing next to Ward's development. And it's happened twice to him since then.
