Do you think Brian Callahan is the man to take this team to the top?  We've discussed Cam Ward and what we expect from him.  Most of us wanted Cam Ward at Number 1.  We see a player who has achieved, more aptly overachieved at every level.  We pretty much see Top 5 QB potential with nothing less than Top 10 to believe he was worthy of the #1 pick.  Most fans of NFL teams expect taking a QB #1 mean he's going to lift their team to the top of their division and he can deliver wins in the playoffs.

We also know surrounding talent is a big part of a QB's success.  He'll have to have top talent around him. Both sides of the ball.   Edge rusher.  DT.  Skilled CB to take care of the backside and some thumpers up front to contain RBs/TEs and QBs.  The OL imo is close to a top 12 unit, if Cushenberry's what we expected.  We will continue to improve the talent on the team.  We have our QB and most of us believe he's the guy that's going to raise the surrounding talent's level of play.

We've seen Callahan for a full season.  What's his ceiling?  We have the QB and are building the team to win it all.  If the last draft in any evidence, the new regime looks like they know what they need.  The 2nd-UDFA selections they made them appear to really know what they are doing.

IYO, is BC the guy?

I think he’s a good coach. I think guys were regularly schemed open but we had terrorists at QB and RT. As far as the management side, I think there was just too much inexperience all at once in a fir

Why not just ask if we think he will end world hunger and bring about thw downfall of taylor swift?

Working my way up.  In the NFL every year a can't miss QB comes into the NFL.  Look at TLaw, is it the Jaguars or the QB?  If Josh had gone to J'ville would have developed better or worse.

Who said ward was cant miss? I still stand by he is a mid first round prospect on tape. The intangibles definitely make you understand why people could fall head over heels for him though.

In 2018 I saw immediate improvement in how the Titans played.  Vrabel started making smart decisions with the clock.  He made one on Belichick.  You could see results from him being out of the field working with Landry.  They stopped getting as many penalties and it was evident Vrabel had made that a point of emphasis.  Year two, he has the Titans in the AFCCG.  Tannehill comes in and starts putting up elite number.  If you go back and read posts during that time, people here had him top 5 because of the offense Vrabel ran.  He was a smart young coach and he knew how to use his talent to get the best score.  Win Games.

What did you see that impressed you with Callahan?  Which areas of improvement that the new coach implemented made you say, this guy's got something!

I think he could find himself in the right situation and accomplish both, but he's not good enough to coach a team to greatness on his own the way Reid or Belichick could.

Hopefully Ward is his Mahomes.

I don't think anyone said he's a can't miss QB.  I have seen a lot of comments about him being the next Mahomes.  Of course we kept up with a lot of the Ward coverage, but the league and fans expect him to be very good.  Mahomes is the baby GOAT, some say the GOAT.  Either way Ward has received very complementary reviews.  But this is about the coach entrusted to get 110% of his talent and effort.

We talk about the rookies, veterans, owners, GM*, the field and everything else Titans.  BC is the head coach.

If all you want is my opinion on Callahan, then I am higher on him than the more vocal people on here that make it feel like everyones hates his guts.

But overall Idk how much we can really take from last year.

I think the play calling was solid. There was plenty of plays left on the field.

The absolute train wreck that was levis improved even if only from outright disaster to holding the team back.

He showed willingness to try new things and change even if it took 2/3 of the season to see much improvement.

How much does that all actually matter? Not much if he doesnt have the overall vision and ability to take a few small bright spots and exand on them. I just think its to soon to try and say if he does or does not.

Last season was snake bit from day 1 and it was a giant climb just to get out of the hole before you could actually try and do anything. Even perceived positives like Hopkins were hurting the team.

Just hold on.

There are a lot of opinions about the HC.  We talk about the team all day.  Look at Restrepo's thread.  He's an UDFA.  Believe me this board has an opinion.  What's that they say, Opinions are like @BudsOilers.

Callahan was not a good game manager IMO last year.  His players also, in many areas, did not improve.  Maybe this is lack of talent, injury, idiots running the team or combo of all but both Callahans have tons to prove this year.
