He has to earn those 7 O's from @woolfolksunclesuncle first. woolfolksunclesuncle

I feel like he got drafted that high more on his measurables and potential than his college stats. They obviously saw something they liked a lot. No reason he can't develop substantially though. freakingeek

Yeah what you were watching was an ILB moved to edge because of injuries literally 4 games or so into his last season. Before then he never took a snap at edge. You can tell his initial instinct is to read and react...but I did see some burst when he just unleashed. He's a project for sure, but he has great hips, heavy hands, and some good quick twitch if he can get his jump at the snap down. Definitely a projection pick with traits. titanruss
I like Femi's energy but there were bigger and more athletic players on the board that played at bigger schools, actually played the position, and were more productive. Femi also being the last to sign while being possibly the biggest reach in our draft is not a good look. Edited June 6 by titanruss DCTitan

I'm interested to see what he turns into. The NFL can be a tough place to learn on the job but we've seen guys make the transition before. Femi also being the last to sign while being possibly the biggest reach in our draft is not a good look. He’s not remotely a reach. They drafted him roughly within line of his draft projections. He’s just a developmental guy more than an immediate impact guy. And no one cares when he signs as long as it’s before camp. The whole 2nd round got screwed up this year in terms of contracts because some teams handed out full guarantees. It’s not just O2. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/30-second-round-picks-are-unsigned-after-top-two-got-fully-guaranteed-contracts Edited June 6 by Starkiller IsntLifeFunny, Callidus, and titanruss 2
NashvilleNinja
Femi's attraction is his devotion to just being the best player he can be. If we got a super solid edge setter with great character and work ethic then I'd say that's better for now to pass on the guys with maybe higher potential as pure pass rushers but maybe have questionable character and/or work ethic. Let Baltimore deal with the more rapey of them. That's always been their forte anyway. We'l be ok with Femi, especially if we struck gold with Kevin Winston. QBs can just scramble around with a little more time to find our roaming safeties to toss picks to. We weren't going to fix everything but a stronger foundation, which is really what the team needs more than flash players right now, will help prepare the team next year when we can focus more on trying to get a blue chip pass rush specialist.
