AussieTitanFan08
Chiefs have informed Pro-Bowl guard Trey Smith that he will be franchise tagged, per source. https://x.com/AdamSchefter/status/1895189607441899685 Supdawg
AussieTitanFan08
This could see my theory from last month play out where they move on from Joe Thuney to keep the younger and ascending Trey Smith.

Listen Bud I need my overpriced free agent acquisitions so we can win the all important best offseason rankings competition! Btw unrelated but didn’t we win last offseason and proceeded to be the worse team in the NFL? Really makes you think! Justafan
Just set the foundation with solid lunch pail guys and be patient. They aren’t fixing everything in one offseason. IrishTitansFan
scine09
This is a blessing in disguise for the Titans. I'm not a big believer in committing that much money to a guard. RT is infinitely more important than RG. They can find someone to plug and play for them. It doesn't have to be the highest paid player in the history of the sport at the position. TerryBoats
This is the type of shit which makes me question the Chiefs' roster-building strategy. $23M for a Guard is just insane, when their roster is clearly lacking compared to the SB opponent they just saw. I guess they're banking on the AFC cannibalizing itself and a weaker SB opponent who they can simply beat with a quality gameplan and Mahomes. Which probably isn't a bad strategy. The Eagles and Chiefs now have the two highest paid G in the NFL.
