Any time he really talked about Levis it was apparent, at least to me, that he did not see him as a Joe Burrow-type processor/cerebral QB. I'm sure he thought he could simply scheme up some high percentage throws for Levis to bring down his rate of risky throws and by extension make him at least somewhat efficient. He didn't account for just how much of a football meat-head Levis was which is why he looked like he'd seen a ghost when Levis was throwing those ridiculous picks. Even with all of that, you could see glimpses of the coaching starting to come through in some of Levis's games. Levis just can't help himself; he can't be the guy that I'm sure he wants to be. I feel for both Callahan and Levis because it really was an unwinnable situation. The irony is that Levis was throwing to his first read far less frequently as a rookie, and performed much better while doing so (second link) Whatever Callahan's plan was for Levis, it clearly didn't work and in fact caused him and the passing offense to regress. Callahan seems like Gase, McDaniels, etc- he's used to working with the greatest QBs on the planet. He's never had to take a QB's limitations into account before, and isn't sure how to work around that. The problem is, there are many coaches in the league who can do that. Including the one that Jacksonville just hired. https://x.com/BrosephJr31/status/1846382844731326717

Jamalisms
I don't think anyone was going to succeed with Levis. But what I saw with Rudolph didn't inspire a whole lot of confidence in the offense. No idea what it'd look like with an actually good QB, though. titanruss, and IsntLifeFunny

rns90
All you really need to know is that multiple high level people in this organization have said fixing the qb spot is number one. And the HC who has some say this year has basically pointed out the flaws of the guy who started this year as a qb who he doesn’t want. Will Levis is going to be some other team’s problem in 2025. titanruss
Unless he starts acting malcontent or sabotaging.. or the off chance we get like a 4th or 5th for him, I bet Levis is still here this coming season.

TF_Titan
There's no way they would cut Levis. They may trade him, but even that's probably not likely. But I'm sure that they have no intention of rolling into the 2025 season with him as the starting QB.

Why do you say its not likely when guys like Ridder/Lance/Willis/Howell all got shipped when there were questions about whether any other team would part with draft capital for them. I say that because he's the only QB under contract and I doubt they'd get much of an offer for him. I don't think they're going to dump him just to get him off the roster. If someone offers good value obviously they could move him. I'm just saying that's probably not going to happen. titanruss

I don't see any way they roll with either Ward/Sanders and Levis as the QB room in 2025 they will want a veteran for the young QB to learn from not the frantic and erratic Levis. What veteran runs this offense with its verbiage that will be available? Its part of the reason i could see us chasing Browning or keeping one of Rudolph/Levis. Levis is younger, already on a deal, and probably cheaper than Rudolph?

Not sure it would be purely about knowing the scheme as much as someone who can be a real mentor for a young QB, basically spells out the Titans looking for their own Alex Smith who was such a help for Mahomes. Obviously all that would be reliant on the Titans actually drafting a QB with the #1 pick.
