could we trade back a couple spots get Carter or Hunter and still expect to get an additional first round pic in next years draft

if so that's my choice

sam Darnold would need to be discount and an out after 2 years

but there are other options for a bridge guy

Based on previous trades... probably. It takes a partner to dance though.

Firs thing we should do is use our Waiver power and pick up Diontae Johnson.  Hou waived him.  He is worth a claim because you'll know he'll get snaps here which was his beef in Carolina, Balt, and Hous.

They don't need a me guy.

He’s a free agent at the end of the season anyway and I doubt any playoff team will want him based on the chaos he has brought as of late.

I guess a non-playoff team could claim him and then just let him walk to use him to potentially help their comp pick numbers in free agency. Otherwise he just clears waivers and goes into the free agency pool without having to wait for the new league year to begin.

lol Bongo.  The guy has been on 4 teams this year (including PIT).  A couple of teams aren’t poorly run so at this point , I’d say Johnson is the problem.

Someone will sign him for 2025 if only because there’s a shortage of available talent at WR and he can play if his head is on straight.

LOL he literally got thrown off of 2 playoff teams because he's a selfish me player bitching about targets.  He's not nearly good enough to pull that off.  He'll be begging to sign with a team in the summer before camp.

What's funny is that Tomlin's comment is getting taken out of context.  They don't have a QB under contract for 2025.  He's not saying they are absolutely not re-signing Wilson or Fields, which is what the tweet is trying to suggest.

But I don't disagree they are in QB purgatory and they very well may be in the QB market too.

This is what the bridge QB treadmill looks like.

but if they had 2 first round pics and a deeper QB class to choose from they would be in the mix to make a move.

And in 2026, some combination of the Giants, Jets, Raiders, Steelers and Colts will still be on the treadmill.  Trade down and one team comes off the list but you join the others.  The supply and demand imbalance for QBs isn't going away.
