Who knows how they grade him, but if they think they will get Mayfield type production by the end of his first contract then you run to the podium. It isn't a question at that point. Not well...but that isn't the point. H would probably need to sit for a bit anyways. If you think Ward can give you that kind of production by year 4 then you don't care at all about what the cost was to get there. The position is that important. They need draft picks to replenish roster holes. If they want a vet qb they can sign one. The #1 pick is their most valuable asset . They can either pick one they feel is a franchise qb. If Ward had been throwing to Nabers and Brian Thomas all year he would have looked way more dominant. Miami had a good slot WR and a good TE, but no elite playmakers on offense.
