thegreathoo
Callahan and the Titans like any other team needs a good quarterback and the one who matches other QBs who have reached SB while on rookie contract. In this draft that is Cam Ward. That is also Mason Rudolph. We do not want to draft projects with physical tools, like Richardson, or Maye, or Josh Allen, or Lamar Jackson. There maybe teams who can and want to do that, we are not one of those teams. oldschool

I'm just saying we don't know what goes in in meetings or how guys become professionals. There are people on this board who don't think Reid is a great coach because Mahomes is Mahomes. But those same people don't think Reid had anything to do with helping him be the best version of himself. Am I arguing Burrow wouldn't be great without Callahan the first 4 years? Of course not. That would be dumb. The impact a coach has on a great QB is minimal. The Reid example is perfect. Before Mahomes, Reid was a can't win the big one HC with horrible clock and game management skills - but a guy who could coach up good QB's to win a lot of games. The coach associated with a great QB benefits the coach far more than the QB. This has been proven over and over and over. Callahan is kind of like Whisenhunt. Give him a HOF caliber QB and he's aces. Anyone else and it's bottom level production. Justafan, oldschool, rns90, and 1 other 3

Next year the product on offense better look more refined and interesting . Many times out of loyalty I’ve watched these games in the second half and been pretty bored out of my skull , waiting for it to be over. Pretty sure I’m not the only one here. What's hilarious is the selling point of improvement and citing scoring offense (tied for 25th with Carolina and Jacksonville).....Of course when you account for Levis' NFL leading 4 pick sixes....they'd be 29th at 16.8 PPG. rns90

Pretty comical and (sad if it happens) that the two times they have taken swings at offensive minded HC they failed miserably and picked the wrong guy. I have no idea and neither do you what Callahan's impact has been on the QBs he's coached but claiming he had no input in any of them over the years is simply you showing your bias. I think Levis did look improved at least a little on the accuracy stuff. There weren’t as many bad passes that the WR had to do adjustments on. I think we can at least credit him on that. It was funny to me everyone gave Lafleur and staff credit after he was there for 2 weeks. Seems to me the more likely growth happened over the previous 6 months but again, no proof either way. All your posts discuss committing to Mason Rudolph in a (inconceivable) significant way. He made the 2nd or 3rd round of the playoffs at a ridiculous rate with guys like McNabb at QB. I recall you and others claiming Fisher was a better coach at the time. Reid is an aill time great HC and may be the best offensive minded coach ever.
BudsOilers
His QB resume by the way before Mahomes was McNabb (#2 overall pick), Vick (#1 overall), and getting to playoff games and losing with Alex Smith (#1 overall pick) who had turned around under Harbaugh.
