Kamala vs Trump Debate: 9/10/24

I probably won't watch beyond specific clips I look up later but I imagine many of you will be watching, as you did for the Biden debate.

 

For myself, I remain convinced that the expectations for each candidate are so different that it will be hard for Kamala to "win." I expect Trump to make wild claims about her time as a prosecutor and it will be interesting to see how she responds. It'll also be interesting to see how well she does at combating lies, given that mics are muted.

 

I imagine the debate will take over headlines for a couple of days and, again, don't expect it to be good for Kamala because she's almost in a no-win situation. Hopefully she proves me wrong.

I appreciate the moderation on this somewhat.  However, they aren't holding either candidate to the topic.  They asked Harris to respond to not rolling back tariffs and she spoke about something else (computer chips).

She was nervous at first. And he held his own. For about two minutes. 

 

As it goes on this looks more and more brutal, a fucking ass kicking beyond reason. She transitioned from his insane rant about eating pets into all the Republicans endorsing her perfectly. 

 

The difference in their demeanor, their coherency--this is night and day.

Trump really takes the concept of not answering questions to a new level. Asked what does his mass deportation look like, offered no information whatsoever.

 

Probably because he doesn't know what his handlers will tell him to do about it yet.
