SF just paid their RB and this tells you Ayiuk is on borrowed time in SF.

I think it’s more likely Deebo. If they wanted to get rid of Aiyuk, I would think they would have done it earlier, whereas waiting post June 1 to trade Deebo saves much more money. Additionally, Aiyuk is also just way more talented.

LOL @ Vrabel out there on the field

Very fitting he's working under Schwartz

Said it before but the guy clearly misses playing in the NFL and seems to use his coaching job spot and some sort of way to relieve it.

I mean which other coach would get involved in these practices and almost be like an active player on the roster?

Also LOL at him continually giving pointers to the OL.

not sure where these statements come from, but it’s false.

2019 - conf championships

GB/ SF - 0 top 10 Recieving in catches/yds

TN/ KC - Travis Kelces top 10 yds and cth

2020 conf championships

KC/ Buf - Kelce, Diggs top 10 yds and cth

GB/ TB - Adams top 10 yds and cth

2021 conf championships

KC/ Cin - hill top 10 yds and cth, Chase top 10 yds

LAR/ GB - Kupp, Adams top 10 yds and cth

2022 conf championships

KC/ Cin - kelce top 10 cth and yds

Phi/ SF - AJ brown and Devonta Smith top 10 yds

2023 conf championships

KC/ Balt - 0 top 10 receiving yds or cth

SF/ Det - St Brown top 10 cth and yds, Ayuik top 10 yds

2019- 3 of 4 teams had no top 10 receiving targets.

2020- 1 of 4 teams had no top 10 receiving target

2021- holds true in yds

2022- 2 of 4 teams had no top 10 receiving target

2023- 2 of 4 teams had no top 10 receiving target, 1 of 2 was yds only.

8/20 total did not have a top 10 receiving target.

I was going by talent, not stats; whether or not a player was injured from weeks 5-8 makes no impact on their contribution in the playoffs.

2019:

GB: Davante Adams

SF: this was admittedly an oversight as I didn't realize that Deebo was so young here; still, they had Deebo, Kittle, and Kyle Shanahan notably with Kittle posting a 1300 yard season the year prior

KC: Kelce, Hill

Ten: I'd argue AJ Brown, even as young as he was; if you argue against him, then I wish you happiness as part of JRob's next staff

2020:

GB: Adams

TB: Evans, Godwin represents a heavy investment in the pass catching group; both are fringe top 10 at this point in their careers with Godwin posting a 1300 yard season the year prior

KC: Kelce, Hill

Buf: Diggs

2021:

LAR: Kupp

GB: Adams

KC: Kelce, Hill

Cin: Chase

2022:

Phi: AJB

SF: as I mentioned earlier, CMC, Kittle, Aiyuk, Deebo I think qualifies as investing in pass catchers just as much as paying a top ten guy

KC: Kelce

Cin: Chase

2023:

Det: ARSB

SF: again, CMC, Kittle, Aiyuk, Deebo combo; Aiyuk himself is fringe top 10 at this point

KC: Kelce; I get he was injured, but I'm not taking 10 guys over him as a pass catcher

Balt: again, admittedly didn't think about them; tbf, they have paid Mark Andrews and have spent two recent first round picks on WRs if you want proof teams care about pass catcher (which is the entire point of this exercise)

So, I'll say 2019 SF and 2023 Bal are the exceptions; throw in the 2019 Titans if you aren't an AJB believer. Everyone else either has a top 10 pass catcher or is heavily invested at the position with fringe top 10 guys (if you are trying to use the Evans/Godwin Bucs and the CMC, Deebo, Kittle, Aiyuk Niners as proof that elite pass catchers don't matter, then I'll happily let you make that point).

So that makes 14/20 with definitive top 10 pass catchers, and 17/20 if you include the Bucs and later SF groups.

My point was that the contenders invest heavily in their pass-catching groups. I think the results show that pretty definitively

KC has won 2 SBs since trading Hill. Miami hasn't won a playoff game since getting Hill, GB made a great playoff run last year without Adams while the Raiders didn't do shit.

The Eagles have done well with Brown but they would be good anyway. The Titans would have still sucked with Brown the last two seasons.

A WR is a nice bonus to add to a good team but they are being overpaid right now imo

You've got KC with possibly the best QB ever (positive example but extreme), a GB example where they swapped QBs away from one of the best ever and still did the playoff thing you mention (this works against your point) and AJB elevating Eagles while the Titans flounder and you hand-wave it away (unconvincingly).

So ... KC and two examples that disprove your point. Startlingly goofy post, tbh.

Has this already been discussed?   I see nothing recent on the forum about it, but it seems something that would be discussed:  Burks to Special teams before training camp even starts.

Whats crazy is there is a ton of WR talent in the league right now and quite a bit of it is from the 2nd round and later. Its kind of odd that such a readily available position group would explode contract value wise like this.

It almost feels like some kind of bubble doesn't it? Like I get that the demand is at an all-time high but so is the supply. The market seems out of whack.

N’Keal Harry could never quite find the success of a wide receiver drafted in the first round. So the Minnesota Vikings are taking a different approach.

Harry, a 2019 first-round pick by the New England Patriots, was working out with the tight ends on Tuesday. Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell confirmed to reporters the 26-year-old will make the switch from wide receiver to tight end for the 2024 NFL season

Watching a bit of the Pat McAfee show and Anthony Richardson was on and said he is currently 250lbs.

Unfortunately that doesn’t fix the structure instability in his shoulder
