BudsOilers
We know this as fact - they drafted Latham over every other LT on the board and every WR on the board, including Odunze who's grade was right with MHJ and Nabers. oldschool
Its seems obvious now the Titans loved Latham and he fits exactly what Bill Callahan wants in a LT. We'll never know if they liked Nabers more and its a moot point since no one expected him to make it #7 anyway. Move on. titanruss
We have no idea where they ranked Odunze or every tackle after Latham. We have no idea if they had Nabers ranked well above any of them.
Bongo59
This guy is what Levis needed. He did not need a rookie.

If that wasn't the case, he would have worded it completely differently. Even doubles down including a quote where everyone knew they were taking a Tackle. Quote The Titans had three primary options at No. 7 overall: Notre Dame tackle Joe Alt, Alabama tackle JC Latham and Nabers, the LSU receiver considered by some evaluators as the most explosive player in the draft. If Latham, the eventual pick, was off the board, Nabers likely would have been the pick. A three-man core of Ridley, Nabers and DeAndre Hopkins could have been lethal for Will Levis. "Their offensive line was in shambles, so pretty much everyone had tackle pegged for them," an AFC executive said.

Right... but that doesn't say who would be the pick if both were on the board. I know your stance and you know mine. Mine simply follows what the coach repeatedly said all offseason and his non answer when asked if they would have taken Nabers if he was there followed by 5 minutes of fawning over him. Could be the case that no matter what, Ran was grabbing one of those first two tackles. But that doesn't mean that was the coaches preference. BudsOilers
The way he presented it very much says Latham over Nabers....now Alt vs Latham is up for debate albeit there was the report that Callahan Sr. preferred Latham. Brinker/Carthon were wanting to take a LT - the only real speculation was if both Alt and Lathan were off the board and they didn't like Fashanu. I think that's the only scenario where WR could have been the pick at 7.

If you put it into context with other available information, it's certainly credible..... They had the worst Tackle play in football and did not address it in FA. They signed the top FA WR to a big contract and still have Hopkins under contract too Russini reported Callahan Sr had Latham as his top player in the draft Brinker, Carthon, and Callahan all stated they had a specific plan for the draft. Carthon even added that the top 10 went exactly like they thought it would. The only real compelling question that we may never know is what they would have done if Alt and Latham were off the board. Aside from being fucked that is..... Mythos27, and rns90

I think they would have taken Fashanu at 7 if the two LT were off. Otherwise Nabers at 7 leaves the LT and NT fucked. OILERMAN

There was nothing during the process that would lead you to believe Fashanu was going to be the guy. Mythos27

They likely would have drafted Fashanu and if he wasn't their guy, looked to move down some and target Mims or Guyton.
