Never heard of Buckethead and Country isn't music. It's shit. Nashville promotes ear rape as music.

Anyway, Brandon Aiyuk wants to be traded out of San Fran.

Buckethead is old as shit and the furthest thing from country music... well unironically at least.

Crazy prog funk jam with a million other genres. You'd probably love him

Buckethead was the guitarist for Guns and Roses when Axl broke away on his own

I really don't know how well known this next part is but he managed to "outweird" Axl during his time in the band:

Is there anything he can do to get him back in the studio, asks Zutaut. Suddenly Brian Carroll transforms in front of his eyes. “He went into Buckethead mode,” says Tom. “I was talking to Brian and suddenly he was Buckethead and he was telling me about how his parents were chickens and he was a chicken, how his mum was a hen and his dad was a rooster [and then he says] 'I was raised in a chicken coop – it’s the only place where I really feel comfortable’.”

Bingo. “What if," says Zutaut, "we built you a chicken coop in the studio?"

Two days later, it was built and Buckethead was back. “It’s like an apartment within the studio that’s a chicken coop,” says Zutaut. “He’s got his chair to record and a little mini sofa in there, and there’s, like, a rubber chicken with its head cut off hanging from the ceiling and body parts. It’s like Halloween in the chicken coop: part chicken coop, part horror movie. You could almost smell the chickens.

It gets better:

Buckethead is knee-deep in hardcore chicken shack porn heaven when one evening Axl turns up for the session. Zutaut: “Axl sees that Bucket is running this porn – and it is pretty hardcore stuff, it’s not soft porn by any stretch of the imagination – and Axl is really disturbed by it.”

Axl asks Zutaut how long this has been going on and why. “He said music is about energy and we are transferring a creative spirit and vibe within the music,” says Zutaut. “He said, ‘I really can’t have the vibe of dirty, depraved porn being a part of my record – it's really not what this record is about, y'know?’

And the funniest weirdest part:

But Buckethead appeared to be inspired by shit itself. Axl, says Zutaut, had a couple of wolf dogs – three-quarters Timber wolf and one-quarter dog – and during the recording the dogs had puppies and Axl brought one in. “And it goes into the chicken coop and takes a dump.

"And because no one is allowed in there, we wait for Bucket to come in so that we can get his permission to clean it up. Bucket shows up later and we hear through the speaker: ‘Oh, I love the smell of dog poop…’

“So we’re like, ‘Okaaaaaay…’ Roy Thomas Baker or one of the engineers says, ‘We'll get that cleaned up’ and Bucket says: ‘Don’t take it away. I love the smell of dog poop – leave it right here, don’t let anybody touch it.’ Three days later, the studio stinks of dog poop, and finally the studio could not bear it and had it cleaned up.

"When Bucket came in the next day, he was like: ‘Where is my dog poop, man? I told them not to clean it up!’ He was bummed out that it had been cleaned up. But in the meantime, the wolf puppy poop had inspired him for a few days to do some great work…”

Buckethead is obviously a ridiculously talented player.   He’s not exactly my cup of tea, as I burned myself out on all that shredding guitar stuff back in the 80s and 90s….but there’s absolutely no questioning the guy’s talent.

On the rare occasions where I do listen to that type of music….Dream Theater’s John Petrucci is probably my favorite player from that genre.  Of course, there are obviously plenty of other guys out there who are similarly talented  and equally mind-blowing…but  I no longer have a passion for virtuoso guitar-oriented music.   No matter how good a guy is…after a couple minutes, I’m like, “Yup, this guy is definitely an absolutely phenomenal player for sure.  NEXT!”

Dream theater is criminally less popular than they should be. But I get it, not for everyone.

A problem that is totally of his own doing, by simply trading back from pick #38 this year he could of recouped the draft capital he traded away to acquire Levis and Sneed, such a bone headed move not to accept that deal from the Rams.

Depends on how Sweat pans out. If the guy is a day one disruptor who opens up Simmons then it was the right move. If he's a 2 down run stopper then yep terrible move.

I know that, but he was hardly a bull in a China shop in college. He was oddly a 380 pound finesse player. Kinda like the Derrick Henry of nose tackles.

If he can keep it all together I have no doubt he can be good. Will he be 2 2nd round picks and a solid NT you could have got for peanuts good is the question.

I know he's quite a bit bigger and played a different technique, but his play style reminded me a lot of Jurrell Casey with his hand usage and explosive first step.

That isn't a terrible comp at all.

I personally prefer Marty Friedman of Megadeth fame.  There's a certain Eastern (Asian) flair to alot of his songs.

But yeah, I'm guessing shred instrumental isn't going to be that popular at all now.  I'm guessing if I played Soothsayer (one of Buckethead's most famous songs) for friends and family, they'd probably lose interest at the points where he really starts sthredding and hitting those notes.  It's too much info or noise for most normal people I suspect.

This is a great comp. I love Sweat & actually think he’s a steal. If you go strictly by his last season he’s an easy top half of the 1st rd talent. He was dominant against the run & pass. Because he’s 6’4 360 it’s assumed he’s  a 2 down run stopper & anything we get pass rush wise is a bonus. This isn’t really the case, he actually mostly played 3 tech last year & Murphy was the nose. Hes super quick & explosive for his size.

He is going to be primarily a 2 down player. 360lb DTs don't play on third downs

Texas played a 4-3 and moved Murphy all over. They also gave Sweat very few snaps to keep him fresh (35 a game)

Stop me if this sounds dumb BUT. What if we played Sweat on 1st and 3rd downs rather than 1st and second? This way we can take advantage of his run stopping ability on 1st, then he gets a blow, then he comes back on the field pretty fresh to take advantage of his pass rushing ability on third. Obviously if second looks like a passing down you keep him in then and possibly take him off on 3rd. Highly unlikely and I'm not sure if any player has ever been used like this but just a thought that popped into my head. Could be a creative way to maximize this player's skill set at least until he gets in good enough shape to play all 3 downs.
