Jamalisms
The Titans, as a team, on defense and on offense, are - almost across the board - worse than I thought they'd be. I had lower expectations for Ryan Tannehill than the resident Tannestans (obviously) and he underperformed even my pretty pedestrian expectations. It is what it is. It sucks to suck and he did and we do. Suck it up, move on and, for the love of God, stop crying. reo, IsntLifeFunny, and big2033

Imagine how bad the Front Office would be if they allowed a win against the Falcons to change their trade deadline plans only to give up on the season 4 days later after the Steelers loss. The truth is Tannehill right now isn't that much better and might be worse than Levis who took the 2 games he was given in relief to show he may be the short term answer as well. Vrabel isn't dejected because the team is in eval mode and gave up on the season. He's dejected because under his watch the team is 3-12 in their last 15 games. It's not but they have a tough climb. Cleveland and PIT have awful qb's and I suspect there will be a regression to the mean at some point, especially PIT. Levis has looked better than Tannehill The issue with them going forward is that they may be in a lot of these games but their inherent flaws might stop them from winning a lot of them/close losses. Shitty OL play, Vrabel's conservatism on both offense and defense. If they had a solid unit on one side (like the defense) I could maybe forsee a late push towards one of those last spots, but as it is, it looks unlikely. But they won't go winless or win only one game. oldschool, and Justafan

I haven't seen anyone say anything along those lines. titanruss, and big2033 1

I don't think they will make a run but this clueless fan shit where posters have been pushing for a tank job since Feb deserves to be laughed at. They have the Bucs, Colts, Texans twice, and the Panthers. The 4 challenging games are the Jags twice, Dolphins, and Seahawks. All those teams have problems but would be favored for a reason. Now I'm not predicting they go on a run, sorry @pat, but this idea its over at the mid way point is false. They aren't done until they get to 8 or 9 losses. Number9
Guys, the game is more than numbers. Tannehill's 2021 season was what Tannehill is. The guy is all heart. He stood in there w/o Henry, took a hellacious beating QB'd the team to the #1 seed. @Seattle, they bottled Henry up in the first half and Tannehill had one of his best games as a Titan. He threw some absolutely great balls, highlight reel stuff. He didn't get any calls. Second half, Henry got loose and the news was all about Henry. If Julio had worn different shoes, Tannehill would have been the hero. Tannehill was about playing the best he could to win games. He wasn't elite, but he was one of the best QBs we've had. QB worship is a hellova thing. It blinds people. Tannehill got old. He got the hell beat out of him because he would stand in there and deliver the ball. His ability faded because he's human. Even in 2021 which may be his best contribution you could see he was showing wear by the end of that year. It's not easy, but you just can't fall in love with the guys. When you do that you lose sight of the game and we wind up in this Tannehill's elite, tag him forever debate debacle. Because we've seen weird shit happen before where teams that look dead have a chance to get into the playoffs in the last week or whatever. I would have given them a decent chance vs the Dolphins if the defense were playing better. As it is, is seems like a likely Dolphins win.

Popular Post Pragidealist
1 hour ago, oldschool said: You know the answer. They never thought Tannehill was good enough to win a title so now that a QB change has been made, they are tuning in to see if Levis can be that guy. Its really that simple. This is 100% true. I get his appeal. He was the closest thing to a franchise qb that this team has seen since Mcnair. 3 playoff appearances in 4 years is solid. But he was always a rental. He was a step up from Kerry Collins and Matt Hasslebeck but he was still a temporary fix. Talk about a window being open - it was brief. 2020 they were 11-5. In 21 they were 12-5. Then it was over. This team has only had 2 franchise qbs. Moon and Mcnair. Moon had 7 playoff appearances in 10 seasons. Mcnair had 4 playoff appearances in 9 seasons (with 5 playoff wins and a superbowl appearance.) In the McNair years, the Titans only had 1 losing season. That was a true window. In years moon was here, they only had 3 losing seasons in 10 years. Those were franchise qbs. So Tannehill was the closest this franchise has come to a franchise qb but he was a short term a rental. Always was going to be. Lasted 3 winning seasons. Blink and he's gone. So many- including myself- are interested to see if Levis could be that guy. And others are grieving bc it means the Titans go back to the Vince Young, Jake Locker, Mariota days of trying to find that franchise qb.
