Will Levis is Fast Eddie.  Mike Vrabel is Paul Newman.  Can the Coach turn the Rookie into something big?  We're gonna find out soon enough...

Overheard in the background... Fast Eddie asks Ryan Tannie "You ever play pool, boy!? 8️⃣

Now that's a "poolboy" I can respect.

New era begins.   Please declare yourself for or against in the comments, so we can figure out the new teams.

I would have joined the mob if he said anything other than this.   RIP Fanboys.  I know it’s been miserable being wrong at every turn the past 3+ years.  But @OILERMAN @BudsOilers and @oldsc

You almost had a thumbs up. I don't agree with the connotation of "Anti-Tannehill." Tannehill was good. And a welcome breath of fresh air from the novice QBs we've had come through on rookie contracts who could not understand the fundamentals, they just knew how to run.

The issue was, while it's obvious Tannehill had a mid-level floor, he also had a mid-to-high ceiling. He wasn't a playmaker. Our running back was. Henry at his peak could make chicken salad and take it 99 yards.

And while it was great seeing Henry put on a show, anyone with a brain knew it would be short lived and our QB would have to make plays when shit didn't go as planned.

For many, the Bengals game was proof that our QB would never beat a Burrow or any other top QBs because their QB was a playmaker and ours was not, our RB was. So ultimately, unless you hit on all-stars at every other position you're wasting your time.

But then some people would say, "if we just added more receivers, if we just had a LT, RT, TE, change-of-pace RB, better play calling ..." LIKE HOLY SHIT. Enough. Our QB is not enough. Admit that, then I can talk about our other issues. How many offseasons did we talk about the offensive return of Tannehill like Jesus was coming back? And then he'd have 21 TDs and 14 INTs

I have no clue how Levis will turn out. What's refreshing is everyone YOU INCLUDED, can finally see what playmaking talent at the QB position looks like in a Titans uniform.

That's why you're on board. Some of you are genuinely shocked at the velocity and the ability to make chicken salad. But that's what a franchise QB should do. And that's what Tannehill wasn't. That's all I've been saying.

I literally put the word oversimplification in parenthesis after anti-Tannehill. Was this post really necessary? You didn't say anything that hasn't been discussed a million times over.

I think Willis was not handled well at all last year.  I still think he has a chance to develop into a Dobbs like player.

You are referring to Josh Dobbs with the aerospace engineering degree and the 4.0 grade point?? If so, Willis will never get there

Why because I'm tired you spamming the board with the same shit. We fucking all already know the offense is predictable.

Can you contribute anything of substance other than the words "conflicted" or "retard".

Let me answer for him. No he can’t.

For sure, but he was getting smoked out there and kept coming back for more and stayed aggressive. That's a huge plus in my eyes. I also think the ridiculously quick pressure is forcing him to make some reads he may not if he had more time. We'll have to see if first and foremost the team can do even an adequate job of protecting him.

Somewhat tangential, but when I say he looked great I mean that with a caveat of him being a rookie behind the worst line in the NFL. The bad throws were mostly still good reads. The accuracy will hopefully get better, and I think it's a great look he's signed on with the QB coach who teaches Burrow, Mahomes, and Allen.

He was impressive showing grit and toughness.  I did personally see the aggression as a pro and a con.  His aggression was at times a weakness - making poor decisions that cost them points and possessions (end of half/4th down play).

The accuracy issue is one that I'm super curious to see if it improves much.  He relies on the arm talent so much that his mechanics are flawed at times and causes some of the ball placement issues.

I think the team's ability to support the QB is paramount to whether the right regime is here.  Vrabel has to do a 180 philosophically on offense or he needs to go - whether it's now or soon down the road.

If they consistently put him in 3rd and long, he could really struggle with the issues he needs to work on.

I'd like to think this is the case but we've already seen some Mariota like fawning and anger towards people pointing out the mistakes (decisions/throws) as being haters or being mad for pointing out that the offense is the same with the same massive flaws in coaching/personnel choices.

TR so far has been better that social media but we'll see what unfolds.  If Levis stacks up some Falcon like games, he'll own the town and site.  If he stacks up some more Steeler type games and losses, then you worry that the mistakes are indeed fatal flaws and why he slipped in the draft.

For me, I want to see better coaching to help the kid and see him improve in his problem areas.  Won't happen overnight but we should see progress.

The next big battle line will be over Vrabel or when they either let Henry walk or re-sign him.

We're still in the period of time where the Tannehill doubters are exacting their pound of flesh. When that passes and if Levis plays well enough some of that might fizzle out.

I contribute way more on this board than either of you.  That said, I choose to refer to you guys as retards and it's well earned.  Not can't.....won't.....there's a difference.

I'm definitely not conflicted about that :)

Intelligence hasn't been an issue with Malik. He kinda panics. Understandable given that he's never been developed into a passer. He's probably been the hero for his entire life. Sucks he went to Liberty tbh. Guy has a skillset that few will ever sniff

No there will just be other things to argue about.

Fair enough.  It still seems to be an attempt to sound smart and also to be used as a way to excuse Tannehill’s performance by blaming it on Vrabel.

again... only if you tie everything to Tannehill and not football X's and O's in general. There really is no need for this nonsense.

TBF anybody who speculates on a board about NFL shit is gonna likely be more wrong than right. If not, they'd be paying us to type this stuff. But when you hit, you celebrate.

It doesn't matter what you did. You still said it.

Yes it was necessary.

It could've been "people who didn't think Tannehill wasn't good enough" or "people who didn't think Tannehill was ever elite" or "people who think Tannehill was average"

You chose "anti-Tannehill" as the oversimplification when it's not an accurate oversimplification.

I'm excited about drops now. Because before, the frequency wasn't there. So one drop could kill a drive and a few could kill a half. Levis has had some really terrible drops, which should improve as the receivers get accustomed to getting the ball more.

Another symptom of low frequency passing is lack of separation. How fucking hard do you try on every play if you rarely see it? Now we have a QB who has the moxie to audible and throw it right back to that guy who dropped it to gain their trust.

No worries because we saw it in the 2nd half last week......and are likely to see it some more as long as Vrabel is here.

yeah but it wasn't a factor in why the Titans lost that game

the issue is people just look at the run/pass attempts on first down and if they are skewed towards run then they start calling for Vrabels head.

doesn't seem like many posters actually look for any context beyond that.
