This will only happen more and more with gambling being legal and addictive. Families of players betting knowing spreads, under overs, play props. It’s everywhere. Even if these guys make millions you can never beat gambling addiction because it’s hard to break a real bad habit.

Meanwhile, the NFL continues growing partnerships with gambling organizations everywhere.   Good luck keeping it contained.

clearly these players scored poorly on the S2

Apparently, the violation is because they placed the online bet while in a facility. Placing the bet outside the facility would have been fine.

That's hilarious, as if NFL facilities are sacrosanct somehow, even after one of them now resides in Vegas.

It's just dumb.

It's dumb for sure but every NFL employee knows the rules or should know the rules...

Hopefully the two lions appeal. That's ridiculous.

I blame cryptocurrency, a gateway gambling product.

I detest crypto but if you were looking for a real gateway to gambling that would be micro transactions in games or trading card games, or the holy grail things that are both like Madden ultimate team.

Lions axed the 2 guys with the idefiinite suspensions and some staff members as well. The non NFL rule might seem petty, but it's a day one thing; in Williams case they were betting on CFB which could be really problematic given that these guys maintain tons of contacts with guys at their schools and others who haven't started raking the big money yet. NFL should have never partnered with gambling ops, imho; just terrible optics.

That's what makes it hypocritical. Gambling is a huge part of sports now.

The NFL and all these leagues partner up with these gambling sites because they know people will tune into these games and viewership will only Rise. Thursday night Monday night games that are between two bad teams will still garner higher than normal views. MLB is seeing an increase in viewership because people are gambling more on games and finding ways to watch the teams they placed bets on.

In the RFL, Russian Football League, they cut off your head if you gamble.

Not that bad, kinda expect full on Aztec rules, but they sacrifice the losing team to Putin instead of Quetzalcoatl
