Hard to pay him with production getting worse/injuries more common. The dumb fuck should have taken the Ravens offer last offseason. It's mainly the production. Peyton Manning was coming off possible career ending neck surgery and there was a league wide bidding war and he was late 30s. If Jackson was really an elite QB he wouldn't be available on the non exclusive tender and teams would be beating his door down to sign him. I feel like I just get put in a position where no one wants to argue any counter points to the three posters here with 20,000+ posts who troll the board all day. So I get ganged up on and have to argue three different people at once. By the end of it they’re arguing something totally different than what we started with and calling me a retard for not keeping up with the ever-moving goalpost. I think there is a huge contingent of this board who’s generally far less gung-ho about Tannehill over other QB options but don’t speak up because it’s too exhausting to fight with 3 or 4 dudes who enjoy nothing more than to talk shit to you. I actually understand where you're coming from. It can be daunting to go up against a bunch of strong-willed posters who frankly, are really good at debating and know their shit. I've done it; it's not fun when you're not in the mood for it. That said, I think they're right on this. Tannehill is just a better passer. If people want to make the argument that Lamar's running makes up for that then that's a different argument and one that I think a lot of the football world agrees with. Personally, I don't mainly because of how much easier running is to stop than passing by good defenses and that includes running from the QB spot. BudsOilers
The NFL decision makers will take the passer every time over the running QB. There’s a reason why Lamar has the lowest passer rating and worst record in the playoffs of active QB’s with > 1 playoff game….. Hyperion
Lamar being his own agent is a classic case of shooting yourself in the foot. With the injury risk that he clearly presents, no team is going to part with the serious draft capital to sign the contract Lamar believes he's worth. It's also rather damning that the Ravens wisely(damnit) don't assent to these contract demands. Every GM's first priority is keeping their job. The easiest way for the Ravens GM to keep his job is to keep Lamar Jackson for the near future and have a reasonably competitive football team. Getting rid of Lamar opens up the very real possibility of not having a quality QB. If it turns out that way, it'll lead to a quick dismissal in a division like the NFC North. The Ravens GM is willing to take that risk and undoubtedly it makes possible trade partners even more hesitant to trade for Lamar.

BudsOilers
IDK if a highlight reel clip on a day when he had a 50% completion rate with 1 TD and 1 fumble is meaningful in any way. Lamar CAN make any NFL throw. So can nearly every NFL QB. He doesn't do it consistently. His 2022 season in a whole is interesting. First 3 games: Lights out. 118.9 Passer Rating, 8.5 YPA, 10 TD, 2 INT; 9.3 YPC, 2 rushing TD's, 1 fumble/0 fumbles lost. Final 9 games: 80.8 Passer Rating, 6.3 YPA, 7 TD, 5 INT, 6 PYC, 1 rushing TD, 4 fumbles/2 fumbles lost Hyperion, and Justafan
LongTimeFan
Lamar and Tannehill's 2022 passing stats are very comparable. Lamar was 8-4, Tannehill 6-6. Lamar also gave his team 786 yds rushing, Tannehill 98 yds. I would NOT pay Lamars asking price, but to say Lamar sucks and Tannehill is much better is just pure Tannehill nut swinging. scine09
Am I right that Tannehill completed one pass in the entire second half? I'm not saying Tannehill had a bad game that night but let's be honest, he had to do very little to help the Titans win. titanruss, BudsOilers, and Thrill 1 1

At that point, you just end the game with Henry. Some of you posters need to learn what is more important: passing efficiency over volume. Lamar is a better athlete - that’s for sure. As a passer, Tannehill is way better. OILERMAN
