I agree. It is better to trade AJB at peak value vs letting him walk next year and get maybe a 3rd comp in 2024.   I definitely didn't see this coming, but we got solid value. We are at the

I 100% totally defend Brown for getting as much money as he can. Good for him, fuck the greedy owners and league   But don't lie and pretend that's not what it's about. He's also not going t

TD tried to take AJ's side and ended up looking like a fucking idiot when the whole story came out. This all happened because AJ conducts his business like a child. The Titans wanted him back and were

There you go.

The stages of grief.

I believe this is called the acceptance stage?

I already said I wouldn't have made the move.  But there are reasons why they did this.

You guys are being good little fans by trying to rationalize this trade by saying Brown missed a few games and dropped a few passes. You try to forget how most of you concluded he was the most important offensive player last year and that we needed to make him the focal point.

You guys know this is a step back. Eagles made a phenomenal deal and are paying him what the market says he's worth.

I love Henry, but damnit he's going to have to carry this offense even more (please don't bring up Tannehill, we saw how he was without Brown).

I think the Eagles (and other teams) know that AJ was being held back by his QB.

You can say what you want about Tannehill, he is a better quarterback than Jalen Hurts.  There's no way anyone can say that Brown upgraded his QB last night.  Maybe next year they'll draft a new QB but right now it's not a better situation for him.

It’s definitely a risky move, for sure….and it’s a move JRob made every effort to avoid.

But the fact is, AJB is simply too inconsistent to be considered an elite WR…or to be paid as such.   JRob offered him about 80% of the going rate for a truly elite WRs…which is very much in line with AJ’s career production.  And $20M/year still would have made him one of the highest-paid WRs in the league.

But AJ demanded more….and JR made the  *very* difficult decision to let him go.

People wouldn’t be so pissed about this is the organization had a track record of actually being able to evaluate WRs. We got really really lucky with Brown. From a business standpoint this trade is understandable. But everyone watching games last year especially could see his impact, made more important by us not having a truly elite QB. Brown nearly single-handedly beat the 49ers.

Robinson had a limit that he was willing to pay for Brown. You also have to factor in what the team knows about Browns mental/physical state that maybe we aren’t privy to. I’m not thrilled that he’s gone but I understand that we can’t pay everyone top dollar.

Fair points, I even agree on the onjury/mental state stuff. The trade would be easier to stomach if

a. The contract Philly gave him was unreasonable, it's not. That's what WRs costs these days. Burks will want that and more in 3 years if he's AJ 2.0

b. The Titans were good at drafting and cultivating WRs.

C. They made the move to go get the Alabama WR who may have a ceiling like Chase.

I don't like the move as it's highly unlikely Burks is anywhere near as good as Brown. Hopefully Burks makes us forget about Brown. I'll gladly eat crow if Jrob's move pans out.

It’s kind of tongue in cheek but Robinson is the most successful drafter of WRs we’ve had since maybe the Oiler days. He drafted both Brown and David, who didn’t live up to his draft position but was definitely a good receiver. That’s how bad the titans have been at drafting WRs.

Certainly a risk.

Btw, are we going to hear how Brown was a bad draft pick like Conklin because he didn’t get a second contract from the Titans? 🙄

Nope. One plays an impactful position, the other does not.

Then trams like Steelers and Packers seem to always have no problem re-loading at WR
