This reminds me of that time in high school where a friend overdrew his bank account.  The ATM kept giving money, so he took out as much as he could and bought a new stereo for his car.  He was so gleeful at the time.  About a week later got his statement.  We asked where his radio went and he looked like a sad puppy.

Musk is worth over 200B. I don't think he's in danger of "overdrawing his account" here. But I do wonder how serious he was about buying Twitter to begin with.

This will be fun to watch unfold. Twitter has documentation to validate Musk’s first offer at roughly $52 per share, BEFORE he added the spam/bot qualifier to the deal.

Musk also assured his followers that the deal was going through when it was around $44 per share. It would be the largest clowning of the retail trading sector that has ever happened if he’s allowed to back out.

I personally hope he has to buy it at $52 per share, costing him billions and simultaneously putting the nail in the coffin of Truth Social.

If things go to court evidence will need to be produced from either party about their various claims. If what Twitter says is true about Musk's offer he could be on the hook for it, which might not be so great for him, even if what he says about Twitter is true. But if what he says about Twitter is true I think that would be the far bigger story here.

Musk is an eccentric guy, but I find it peculiar the level of hate he gets now that he's wandered off the ideological reservation the wokecore leftists have built for themselves. When he was just seen as the electric car and space explorer guy who was banging Grimes he was probably more of a progressive darling. But now that he's stepped outside the echo chamber everyone in that environment has gone into tribal mode toward him. So peculiar.

Btw... here's something for people to think about. When Elon Musk first announced his intentions to buy Twitter there seemed to be quite a few people at Twitter decrying the move. Some were downright in tears over it as they were horrified at the changes he might bring. Now they seem like they're gagging for him to buy it.

Fuck Elon Musk either way for a minute... doesn't anyone think there's something off about that company/platform? Or are people just determined to group think their way through this shit?

He's an asshole regardless of his achievements.  He puts up a fake persona and pretends he's self-made.  His achievements are cool, yes.  History is full of assholes and achievements and many times those combine.

People are allowed to change their minds on who they admire as they gather information.  You don't need to make it a left/right-scoring-points thing.  That's pretty peculiar (and frequent).

Done of us have noted Musk is a turd for a long time. Pretending it's ideological is blind denial of his long history of actions.

Same. For many years I have stated that if it was not for a foolish move at Compaq ($300 million for a zip code and tourist attraction location linking website), Elon Musk would not be a public name.

Those are alts.

But I do suspect there are many. Which is even weirder than bots.

Uh, idk about that. Alts I can understand. It's normal ego shit. But bots? Especially if someone had bot accounts for this place? That's committed by at least two or three factors beyond my comprehension level. It's Syndrome level.

Twitter is more or less going to be suing Musk to force him to pay the $1B breakup fee. He still isn’t going to buy them, but they want their billion dollars.

Twitter is suing Musk to go through with the deal at the agreed upon price.

yes, musk signed that contract.
