It feels good, but we can't get complacent. As an undefeated team, we're gonna get everyone's best from here on out.

Zach Lyons just said on the radio that Sam Darnold said the seahawks did a full game plan for their backups against the Titans.

My concern isn't about the players exactly. It's that two weeks in a row I'm watching a scheme that is forcing short throws and multiple QBs not stepping into the pocket. Everything else is ancillary. I get the idea of Ward in a timing offense. Not teaching your QBs the proper avenues to navigate the pocket is a big deal.

@oldschoolmaybe you’re right about the Titans starters not having the same energy as Seattle’s backups but they haven’t come close to earning that right. Theyre not Seattle or Baltimore or the Eagles or one of these teams tbat just needs to tune up. This team has won 5 fucking games the last 2 years, they need to play hard & get their shit together: Jesus Christ if this is their attitude theyre fucked.

yes sort of like when little brother wants to show big brother they can ball but then your cousin doesn't try because they are annoyed they are playing with the younger brother.

And you claim to coach highschool athletes? you've never seen effort disparity in scrimmages or meaningless games, especially from star players? Thats what preseason is in a nutshell, some guys trying harder than others, usually backups. I wonder why? Actually I don't, I know why.

You keep ducking my question with stupid annecdote that don't relate to what we're watching. Explain to me how those mistakes were due to a lack of effort. Please. This should be easy for you.

Preseason is a sham and a money grift by the NFL.

I used to feel this way, but since NFL teams don’t charge more for premium games in the season, I just think of preseason as small part of a bundled package for season ticket holders

I'm calling you out because you're judging effort based on the results of the play like casuals do. I pointed out 3 bad plays to you. Since your blanket explaination to wave it all away is "effort" then please explain to me exactly how a lack of effort led to those errors. You keep trying to put words in my mouth when I already told you staright up why I watch. Stop doing that, it's dishonest.

@rns90 gets it. The Teams, coaches, etc... all know its a sham and not a good barometer for anything but you seem to have cracked the code and can grade players all while not being able to tell teams and players are giving different levels of effort?

No and it was a terrible play.  Lack of concentration from someone who should be better.

Right. So then. Most of the mistakes we've seen tonight; are they closer to the kind of mistake Helm made or were they the result of a pure lack of effort because that's the current reason being given.

No. Scine’s gotten soft on the team in his old age. I love Scine & this depresses me.

Helm is not someone you'd expect that from.  He's generally better than that.  Again, it's a bad play from someone who should be better and has shown himself to be better.  Is it something you'd expect to see in the regular season?  Helm isn't someone I'd expect it from.

You have no idea how much effort is being put forth. You're judging effort based on results and it's the only way you can rationalize what you're watching to yourself. You don't have to be a football savant to be honest about what we've seen; you just have to be unwilling to lie to yourself.
