A lot changes when the pads come on. It wasn't just lack of concentration last year. He played like he was scared of contact the back half stretch. With that said, hell yes it would be amazing if he became what he was always physically capable of, because the talent and physical traits are there. It's concentration and mentality more than anything from what I've watched from Stanford and from last season. The only real thing that bothered me is he went from being a great blocker to being a terrible one. Any time they threw a screen behind him he got blown up. I didnt notice him looking scared of contact other than that. He clearly hit a rookie wall mentally. But he was also facing every teams #1 DB every week. The part where it's hilarious to see people say he isn't a lock is they forget he showed out at different times in a season where the HC got fired and he had to deal with a new coordinator while being thrust into the #1 spot on a bad offense with a rookie QB. It definitely affected him, but he easily showed enough upside that he's on this roster. The problem is he has shown a habit even in college of not being on the same page as his QB, of running sloppy intermediate routes, and of only really shining on throws outside the hashes, which is why that route, even if only in TC without pads, was really nice to see. If he can develop into a legitimate #2 then we are in business. I wouldn't count on it or anything, but he has the skill set for it. Just needs to concentrate on his route running and being on the same page with Cam.
