But he worked very closely with the linebackers and drew praise from Saleh for getting incoming linebackers — of which there were many in 2025 — ready to play. Maybe Saleh will hire Wright as his linebackers coach. Ronnie Blair: Blair, who played four seasons for Saleh in San Francisco and another in New York, spent the 2025 season as the 49ers’ special teams quality control coach. Blair’s expertise, however, is on the defensive line. Saleh could hire him as an assistant defensive line coach or assistant special teams coach. Greg Scruggs: Scruggs, who was the 49ers’ assistant defensive line coach in 2025, had the same job under Saleh with the New York Jets in 2022.
