GLinks
I doubt they think XR offers 75% of what Robinson provided the last two years. At least not for next year. Getting good production from a slot WR has been hard for the Titans to solve. Adding Wan’Dale probably gives them more flexibility on their outside receiver options. We’ll see if it really happens, though. I don’t want to get over my skis on anybody in FA. Lantern, and Sirjesse

I might be in the minority, but I'd be a lot more excited about Hendrickson than JFM. I'm not as concerned about Hendrickson's age. I think his game ages well that he can have 3-4 really strong years left. We need edge rush. JFM doesn't really solve that. Give me the guy who has 39 sacks in the past 3 seasons. Popular Post AvgJoe
I’ve made the comment several times and I’ll say it again before FA tomorrow: The smart teams draft and develop talent to become contenders. The “but” there is that free agency during the early part of a rebuild is crucial to raising the floor and improving the roster from bottom of the barrel. This year and likely next are the last times conceivably for a while that we should be big spenders. Is Wan’Dale Robinson a superstar? Not at all. But what he is is a guy who improves the worst WR room in the league. Same with Alontae Taylor at CB. He has a roll and he does it pretty well. Edited March 9 by Callidus titanskick8851, and AvgJoe

This is where Carthon spectacularly failed he spent a shitload of money and not only didn't raise the floor of the team they actually got worse. Borgonzi simply has to use FA this year to make this team competitive in the short term and also ensure Ward continues to develop. I’m serious, we have so much space between this year and next and so few extension candidates that we should win any bidding war within reason Kcroy420, and Callidus

Even if every one of the players he drafted in the first 2 days of both drafts became a solid starter, it would have made a minor difference. G, QB, RB, NT, and RT weren't the reason the team was struggling. SleepingTitan

They need to find another Jake Scott, Kevin Mawae, Nick Harper, Delanie Walker, David Thornton, KVB. None of those guys were huge $$$ signings at the time, but we got great value. I'm all for a big signing or two, but just throwing $$$ at every top 5-10 UFA doesn't always work as we saw with Ran. They need to raise the floor with some smart value signings. It really shouldn’t be difficult to upgrade the CB room. There are always CB available and we are running a cover 3 zone, so you don’t need pure man CB who cost more. Ill be disappointed if it isn’t at least avg w/potential to be more with our defensive staff. Robinson probably means more to us since he has “corporate knowledge” of the scheme. Ditto JFM on the defensive side. AvgJoe

You will have new scheme for the guys who have been here and lots of new pieces coming in as well. Year two is when we should really see a jump. Expecting average is where Im at for the short term. Average would still be a massive jump though. rns90
