Know what else the win has done? Given the radio shows cart blanche to let all of these causal idiots who are sucking off the win yesterday call in to gush about how great it was, how we need to keep

let the record show Oldschool is TR's most non-binary member!

Obviously the 1st pick would be great but to actively root for losses for 2 months to see it happens is where fans jump the shark. I will say it again, I hope the team finishes 6-11 and you know why? Because those wins will be predicated on Ward and the other young guys developing which is a much surer way to becoming a good team than the draft lottery. a 5 game run would mean Ward had more games like the ones he had against the Texans and Seahawks. It would mean Dike, Helm, and Ayomanor started producing as a unit.

I will never actively root for the team to lose, even the meaningless games in week 17.

Titans will also be picking at the top of  rounds 2-7 as well.

If Borgonzi’s first draft class is any indicator, Titans could potentially end up with 4-5 more core contibutors/long-term starters from the 2026 draft.

Getting the #1 overall would obviously be tremendous….but from a draft capital/talent acquisition perspective, even the worst-case scenario is still a pretty damned good spot.

I know we want the extra picks from a trade down, but we are guaranteed a TOP player at this point. We'll be in the top 5 picks, almost certainly. Our rookies are growing up every week, which is great to see. We NEED to hit on our first round pick this year. Having extra would help, but if we hit on an Edge, OT, or top WR (IDK who is worthy of our pick...these are just big needs we have), that can absolutely boost this team. Imagine having a Miles Garrett type player next to Simmons.

As an aside, I thought our rookie LT played as well as Moore did. I'm not saying he should be our starter next year...just sayin.

Edited to add: As a reminder, the Giants and Raiders play each other on the 28th. One of them will win another game. If we lose out, we will be in the top 2 picks still...can therefore still trade down.

It's not just about having "an extra" pick. Potentially having FOUR 1st round picks in the next two years to pick with would be massive in the hands of a guy like Borgonzi, who seems to know wtf he's doing. And that's before even getting into the extra 2nd and 3rd round picks.

The impact of having the 1st overall pick when you already have your franchise QB is being grossly underestimated.

Lol you guys are looking at this like losers. We're not entitled to the 1st pick or any additional picks so its not like we lost anything. Borgonzi is good enough that if its pick #4 then that means in the 2nd round he'll trade down and get an extra top 100 pick. Sure its easier to get talented players with earlier picks but the talent doesn't run out after the 1st. Trust the scouts and GM

Exactly. Jon Robinson was an egomaniac and an anti analytics dufus, yet still managed to build a Super Bowl contender with the nest egg the big trade down created for us.

This revisionist history is absurd. The Titans became Superbowl contenders for a few years because they got lucky and signed Tannehill as a backup. If anything Jrob's job was saved because of it. What did the Titans do with all those picks from trading the pick to the Rams? Remind me again.

Blah blah blah. More grandstanding silliness.

Team was on the verge from moving away from Derrick Henry.. Corey Davis was a disappointment up until his final year where he ended up being a great TWO receiver.  Conklin wasn't even retained after his first contract.

So despite the fruits brought to us by having the 1st pick in 2016-- it really didn't change our trajectory longterm

The last few posts in this thread are a breath of logical fresh air... thank you for not thinking the season is a total waste because we got a win and now may only have the 2nd pick!

Its not a waste if we dont get the first pick.

Its like if you went to a restaurant and got food poisoning.

Pick 4-7 is getting a coupon for a free meal.

Pick 2-3 is getting your money back

Pick 1 is them giving you 500 dollars.

No1 really wants the first options, the 2nd one is alright, the last one would be great.
