I'm bothered by her process and what it says about her. With Callahan, my issue is preaching patience and then aborting the mission like 2 weeks later partly to avoid embarrassment at the hands of an ex-employee. I should not have to explain the bad optics and implications of that. The Carthon one is arguably worse because she failed to see that the most incompetent GM in NFL history (according to pretty much everyone now) was indeed incompetent. She was off in her judgment on that one that she allowed him to win a power struggle against a coach she still believed in and then made him the most powerful man in the org only to fire him month's later. She's setting fires and then people are giving her credit for putting them out quickly. I'm focused on the possibility that we have an unintentional arsonist as an owner while other seem to think she's a promising firefighter. Her judgement is in question to me because she sucks at hiring people. I’ll agree with the Carthon one. But the Callahan one I have a problem with people painting as reactionary. Let’s assume that there is some division about whether or not to bring him back last year . So she sides with the CEO, now there is enough data this year to know that this is failing . Why should she continues on this path and prolong this? She doesn’t need to see this entire process through. She gave it a chance, oldschool

Which is a REAL problem This is what it boils down to. Supposedly she was stepping back and letting the football people manage the team... I've worked for CEOs who routinely micromanage, meddle, and even overrule their direct reports/leaders within the org all the time. Terrible spot to be in work wise. If AAS really mandated Callahan give up play calling, that makes her one of these and thats not good. You worked? She gave it a chance, Carthon was basically pip'd mid season last year and Brinker had to step in and do his job. You don't leave someone like that your top Football guy because he'd only been on the job a year. You don't let someone Callahan ride it out because the previous coach forced his way out 2 years ago. You move on quick because its in the best interest of the organization. rns90

If that's true, not a good look for the team. Lol as if we need any more evidence on Miss Amy’s impatient meddling. As I’ve been saying since Vrabel was fired, she is a problem. And this team will go nowhere while she does anything more than sign checks. At this point she should not even be involved in hiring Brinkers replacement when he is ultimately fired. speaking of Brinker, his seat is piping hot now…. Also, I’m getting the feeling that he’s a yes man…. All very concerning TerryBoats, DCTitan, and croatian22

He draws that conclusion from her past actions and the fact she had a group at the Raiders game. Bingo…we have more than enough evidence of this. It’s plainly obvious….we have someone totally in over their head running the team.

TerryBoats
I'd be extremely pissed at whoever convinced me to sign Brian Callahan to an 8 figure contract. Someone should go to jail for that. Edited October 15 by TerryBoats

I very rarely overrule the managers who work for me but when I do its for damn good reason. I let my managers run their teams day to day. Based on that criteria I guess I'm a meddler! I assume you worked your way up the totem pole and have some expertise in the areas your teams work in? AAS has none. rns90, Jamalisms, and Mythos27 1 1
