Sounds like it’s one of Borgonzi’s main concerns based on his comments, along with overall leadership and accountability.

My thoughts.   I post infrequently nowadays but do want to do so tonight.  I have vacillated with each new entry into the HC/OC sweepstakes.  I studied what I could with available data on ea

FWIW on F Words Zach Lyons just said he heard the interview between McDaniel and the Titans went “very well”.

I heard the interview with Titans Radio and I didn't hear him say a word about trying to find an offense to best fit Ward.  He wants a strong leader and doesn't care about what side of the ball he's on.

Yeah but that’s because you didn’t watch his press conference in addition to the OTP/TR interview.

You can have a platoon of "competent, accountable leaders of men" interview for the job, but you're not looking for one of them to bring back Cam's high school offense.

What your main concern is should be the starting point of what they're looking for, not the main course. It should just be what gets them from the first round of interviews to the 2nd.

That's the interview I was referring to and I heard most of the press conference.  I'm sure he wants someone to work with Ward.  That's a different thing that a specific offensive system.

So is that why the pundits say Ward doesn't fit that style of offense?? He seems to throw well on the rollout to me..

If you are referring to the shannahan offense, Cosell and others say that, not because he can't do it, but it isn't a great fit because it would limit him and be too rigid.

Cuts the field in half or smaller too often, simplifies reads, more rigid in progression and limits presnap audibles/protection changes/ etc.

The idea was that cam is great at presnap stuff and reads a full field. So taking those tools away from him is not ideal.

I think McDaniel is fully capable and willing to build the best scheme for Cam. Plus even not considering the passing game, we would instantly have one of the best designed run games in the league before even considering players

McDaniel's scoring offenses in his 4yrs at the Dolphins

11th

2nd

22nd

25th

They were #6 and #1 in total offense in his first two years.  In 23, Tua had the 4th highest expected completion % - meaning that in addition to having the best passing offense, their QB also had one of the easiest jobs.  Great reflection of the coach.

I was hard on Callahan because the Bengals' offense under achieved considering their elite talent.  Not only did Miami actually achieve the best O in the league, but I see the scheme doing much more to help the players in Miami - Hill had far more yardage Tua than he ever did Mahomes.  Jonnu was far more productive than he ever was here or anywhere else.  Brewer went from a placeholder C here to an All Pro in Miami.

McDaniels isn't perfect, but he'll fulfill the purpose that Callahan was supposed to - bringing a modern offense and helping the young QB.

Fitst LaFleur and Scheelhaase HC interest confirmation.

None of them are getting HC interest. But they will draw interest as an OC next year, especially under Shula who seems a lock to get a HC job in a few weeks.

I meant HC interest in terms of interviews. Don't be dense.

He picked up Darren Waller off the street and got him like 500 yards and 6 touchdowns mid season! lol
