My thoughts.   I post infrequently nowadays but do want to do so tonight.  I have vacillated with each new entry into the HC/OC sweepstakes.  I studied what I could with available data on ea

FWIW on F Words Zach Lyons just said he heard the interview between McDaniel and the Titans went “very well”.

All 3 were shams in terms of they knew who the guy was probably going to be going into that process.

I thought Zimmer was going to be the guy during the Whiz one .  Fat ass Tommy felt like overpaying at the last minute and got Whiz.

In Munch's defense, Coach Ocho was fired late and all of the top candidates were already gone...hell, even most of the top coordinators were gone.  Given what he was handed, I think he did an admirable job getting Gray and Palmer.  He just dealt with some bad drafts, which is at least partially his own fault.

He was a very smart guy.  He just couldn't get out of his own way and he thought he was smarter than everyone else.  He should have been a better coach.  He treated challenges like they were expired food.  People called Vrabel stubborn.  Vrabel was a great collaberator when compared with Whisenhunt.

We'd all collaborate well with a room full of friends who understand you're the only reason they are in their position.  The one meathead guy who actually got another chance (Bowen) was a laughingstock and will be lucky to get another LBers coach gig.

15 now with the two latest scheduled interviews:

Shula

Minter

McCarthy

Smith

Saleh

Hafley

Stefanski

Amarauno

Morris

Joseph

McCoy

Nagy

Spagnulo

Garrett

Kingsbury

Interviewing Harbaugh, Kubiak, Lafleur (both LaFleurs?), McDaniel would be the dream search list for me.

Though I do kinda wish there was some college HC's with pro coordinator experience on the list.

Munch was unfairly critiqued here by Fisher-stans and it led the narrative. In reality, unless he brought us back to superbowl contention within 2 years, no coach was going to be appreciated.  Everyone was totally missing their ex.

Look at the rosters and QBs Munch had to deal with. he did great and as good as fisher was doing with similar rosters.

Munchak got done in by a lack of a qb and Palmer wasn’t a good hire.

All I can say on the Vrabel stuff is Go Chargers.  They will be exposed at some point in the playoffs.

Munchak wasn’t ready to be a head coach.  It wasn’t his fault.  Of course given the opportunity he was going to take it.

Do you remember if Mike Zimmer was also interviewed for the job that time too?

It’s funny they end up hiring the wrong guy twice and turning down the best candidate in Zimmer both times.

I don’t think he did but could be wrong.  I think Mularkey actually may have interviewed then though.  I don’t remember who the other candidates were but I think it was four people.
