The conjecture over the next week will be wild.

 

As it stands today, there's really no shot of a team making a hire until Harbaugh makes a move, unless a team loves one of these younger coordinators and it's simpatico between them, which doesn't seem to be the case right now. The 1b and 2nd tier coaches most likely are in a holding pattern either by choice or from their hopeful team(s) exploring a bigger fish. 

 

If Tomlin, Lafleur, or McDermott get canned, it'll turn into one of the wildest games of coaching musical chairs  we've seen in recent memory. 

 

However, as is always the case, most of this will be sorted out in the next 10-20 days. Should be an interesting time, regardless! Someone send @tgo a Diddy level supply of lube.

So McDaniel goes from coordinating Tua to…two quarterbacks who might be even slower and worse.

 

If he has pick of OC jobs he’s going to pick the best qb situation and that’s not ATL.

The Titans don’t need a Rooney rule guy . They are already interviewing 3.   I’m not sure that any teams need a Rooney rule guy at this point.

The Titans are the 4th most desireable job now. 

I think Stefanski would choose the titans over the giants if they choose him. With his love of Ward, having to deal with another media circus, and a lame duck GM.

Maybe, or he could go by which HC he prefers. With Saleh, he'd run the the offense and Saleh likes a run based offense, which will incline him toward McDaniel as his top choice in addition to being personal friends. 

 

But hell, maybe I'm selling us short here.

Idk about Selah (not for or against it), but McDaniel as OC is a lot easier for me to swallow than McDaniel as HC is. I want to assume he's just a troll who is all about the dry/dead pan humor, but if he's really as nihilistic as he comes across do you want him in control of anything important?

They need an additional in-person minority interview to be compliant and hire ready. 

 

The Rooney rule requires 2 in-person interviews with minority candidates, the zoom interviews don't count.

Giants have one big problem, their GM sucks, and will probably get fired half way through next year. HCoaching candidates won't come there know he's in trouble.

It's possible I guess - but most observers think the Giants market is preferable.

Is that a problem though? Or does that give the next HC more power to help hire his preferred GM next offseason?
