The run defense has been ass the last two seasons 133.9yds a game last year and 142.6 this season. Not sure there is a team in the league that gives up as many back breaking runs as the Titans do.

I said why they drafted Sweat, I didn't say it worked.

 

It did work great with Tart and Simmons, they led the league in run defense with a light box

Scheme plays a part as well we can all have our issues with Vrabel but he usually put out a decent run defense and even when the team was healthy Wilson has had some major schematic issues especially containing mobile QB's.
