There's nothing to see.  He came from a team which achieved merely good offensive results with great talent.   There's no reason to expect a non-playcalling OC from an underachieving coaching staff to be capable of anything.

This isn't overreacting.  BC made some highly visible mistakes.  He's going to continue being HC, so maybe people just want to protect him.  Don't need a season of boo da coach, but he's a problem.  He also is a threat to the development of Cam.  He sure didn't help it much today.

 

When they look over the game film, will bc point out his mistakes?  Or will he concentrate on his teams' inabilities instead and start teaching them how those plays should have worked.

thats not true. He has Cushenberry, Sko, and Latham plus a veteran RG. The OL has to be better. No one is asking him to make the Duncans and Udoh's of the league inot good starters but I would expect Sko and latham to be better after a year+ with Callahan as their coach. Cushenberry had an excuse being his 1st game back from injury.

That’s two top 15 picks , another guy they made the highest paid C in the league and another guy who started and played well for the top team in the NFC.

 

They should not look this bad even if Denver has a good front

I don't consider any of those guys as high caliber. They're good players with promise. I don't know enough about Cush. Latham to me is the test because he does have high caliber upside. Sko will never be more than good. Fans have overrated Sko too much.

There’s noting with taking a shot just not there.  This is a field position/defensive game .  You run out the clock and go to half .

I’ll disagree in that if these guy are at least good/functional he should be able to coach them up a little.    You shouldn’t need to have first rounders /high priced FAs at every ol spot.  You should be able to develop 2-4th rounders into starters at some point .

Its as if he suddenly realized that he should have been more aggressive in earlier previous drives and tried to make up for it

I'm usually one to be aggressive, but sure as hell not right there...and it absolutely went against everything he had done strategy wise up until that point with the constant banging of the run game in prime spots/conflicted downs to hit the PA game. To go aggressive right there in that situation after calling that exact half is truly one of the more perplexing things I've ever seen a coach do. For the first time all game, the correct and easy strategy is to go into half with the lead and figure out why your offensive line is bleeding.

The lack of first down/conflicted throws bugged me a bunch.  They started drives in Den territory 7 (I think) times .  Good offensive teams do this all the damned time.  Literally it seemed like when they caught a turnover /break, it was a run on 1st.  They didn’t even try to capitalize on the momentum provided by the defense.

 

He’s supposed to be an offensive coach.  So why the hell does it feel that a Vrabel led offense in Tennessee was more aggressive than offensive mastermind Callahan?

That's my stance.  These guys were either high picks or they're getting paid based on their NFL track record.  They aren't UDFA bums- every single one would start for a number of teams.  How many more resources do they need to allocate to the OL in order for it to be reasonable, let alone good?

I didn't see it but if I understand correctly we ran the ball 3 straight times and kicked a FG after the interception coming out of half. Wild.

The point of spending all this money is that they shouldn’t look like 2023 or 2024 OL against good teams . Something has gone horribly wrong if this continues.

I saw it.  We had the ball at the 35. One of the runs gained 8 yards (2nd or 1st down ) .  Still you’d like a different short yardage play and take advantage of your mobile qb.  There are other plays that one can run to gain a few yards against a stout defense.
