Seniority? This isnt college, or who's in charge when the assistant manager goes on break at McDonald's...

They actually mentioned seniority specific to depth chart earlier in the year a few times. Maybe once the season starts its all off the table.

He might as well be a bonus draft pick, so I’m giving him his own thread   https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Xavier-Restrepo-WR-Miami

Brain: He's a UDFA. It's worth a shot and costs basically nothing. Probably never does anything and likely doesn't even make the 53.   HEART: STEAL OF CENTURY. WARD AND RESTREPO CANTON BOUND

Or they liked him but knew he'd go undrafted with that 40' time so why waste the pick if you don't have to.

I hope its not something they use in season. Next best player plays, or next guy that we need to look at should be what they do.

He caught plenty of balls at open practices against NFL players and did good when the ball came his way in the preseason games.  He's a WR and dependent on shit QBs to get him the ball during preseason.

Regardless, the now fired Coaches hardly let him play for most of the preseason games..  So their fired opinions should be trusted?

No one thinks he'll be special. But he may be able to catch a seam pass that no one else has done... since he did it with the QB already  - a lot. You gotta be a dumb motherfucker as a coach to see your QB throwing to one player all day every day before and after practice - that he also had an awesome connection with in college - who was the most productive WR ever at a very prestigious school - and never try to get them on the field together.  They didn't even let them practice together in preseason.

Just try it once.. that's all you have to do. The work ethic and chemistry is clearly there.

XR has been and still is available to 31 other teams for FREE on the practice squad and no one wants him, just like in April.  Take a hint.

Brady was available to all the teams too and they all passed on him 5 times, including the team that eventually/finally took him.

Appeal to authority is a fallacy for a reason, fwiw.

You could apply your Brady argument to every single late round  pick or practice squad guy since Brady was drafted in 2000 and all it would prove is that he was a once in a generation exception.  For 25 years, thousands of guys draft in the 6th, 7th or signed to practice squads and none come close to Brady. It proves nothing specific about XR.

This isn't an appeal to authority.  It's an appeal to the fact that none of the 31 other teams want XR.  Feel free to get back with us when that fact changes.  Until then, all you've got is a fallacious analogy.

This is literally saying the bible proves the bible.

Regardless of if restrepo is useless junk, a good player, or anything in-between, this line of thinking means absolutely nothing.

Players sit on practice squads all the time, for years in some cases, before they ever see any use for better or worse. Teams have a limited number of roster spots, we see a guy here and a guy there get poached off practice squads seemingly randomly during the season.

The chiefs did it a week or 2 ago, was that guy absolutely, unequivocally useless? Did KC just decided to randomly waste a roster spot on him? If not, then your argument has no legs.

We are at a point that there's simply no harm in putting Restrepo out there for some snaps.

I dont get why this is such a hard thing for people to admit. We are at the point winning isn't even a real goal anymore. Im sure they would still like to win games but the fear of another loss should mean nothing to them at this point. That gives you alot of freedom to try whatever you want.
