Better than the reason I've seen in this thread which is akin to wishful thinking.

Thinking a guy who was a first team all-American and set Miami Hurricane receiving records and had established success with the QB they picked #1 could come in and at least compete with a 34 year old wash out or a special teams only PS staple for a role is "wishful thinking"? Man, gtfo here with that bullshit.

The only "wishful thinking" I've ever done was speculate that his ceiling could potentially be Welker, but I have never said that's what he would be. And I sure as shit never said he would come in here and lock down any of the top 3 receiver spots. But I may as well be saying he's the next Randy Moss to hear you fuckin tell it. Jesus.

He might as well be a bonus draft pick, so I’m giving him his own thread   https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Xavier-Restrepo-WR-Miami

Brain: He's a UDFA. It's worth a shot and costs basically nothing. Probably never does anything and likely doesn't even make the 53.   HEART: STEAL OF CENTURY. WARD AND RESTREPO CANTON BOUND

Over random titans fans who have cheered on every wrong move? You bet your ass.

I don't fully disagree but the moves that don't get done are hard to judge as right or wrong a lot of times. What moves got done that fans wanted in order to judge them?

What moves did fa large segment of fans want that were dumb ?

Just let a guy play a rep or two. Throw him that seam they were great at catching together in college and no one here is able to connect on.

Yeqh I dont think anyone is calling for restrepo to start.. just elevate the guy and try him for a rep or two.. try SOMETHING  - anything different.

Definition of insanity is to try the same exact thing over and over, and expect different results.

Yes, let's, "try something... anything different."

I can't imagine Ward isn't asking for it right now. If Callahan was resisting it, maybe McCoy won't. And if Ward wants him out there and it would help him to have a guy he knows he can trust and will almost always be on the same page with him, why the hell not? If it doesn't work? Just add it to the list of a million other things that hasn't worked this year.

If he plays and it works even a little bit the sentiment around here will be "there was no way you could know it would work!" .. if he's just OK it will be about "restrepo homers thinking he's all-pro" when that was never the case.

Of course during times of duress its good to go to something that had been reliable in the past to see if that helps now, even if the situation is different.

It's very simple. If the Titans thought he could help them win, they would elevate him. If another team saw anything on tape that they thought could make work they would claim him. No one did. Those are the facts.

It's very simple. The Titans beat the Cardinals. Over the last two weeks they are 1-1. They are an average team. Those are the facts.

This is why you should never go full fanboy.

They elevated Proche before him .

Also other teams could have signed him off the practice squad.  He’s basically the last guy on the Titans WR depth chart.

Hell, I’ll call for Restrepo to start (or at least be the #1 slot) if it means they get rid of Lockett. The guy has been a net negative in the passing game.

There’s no reason to elevate Restrepo to replace Ridley. They don’t play the same position.

Ridley was looking like he wasn't going to play. Dike was going to take his role, which would have been problematic with Dike also being the KR. What is Proche's role? KR.

Elevating Proche had more to do with Dike potentially not being available for KR than any screaming need for a slot guy. Maybe Proche would get the nod in the slot as well if that were open, but Lockett apparently has naked pictures of somebody.

The question is... what does Ward need/want? And if that quote that he supposedly made (mentioned in the other thread by @TheBukafax) is true/accurate, was Callahan not listening? What if Ward has been asking for Restrepo and Callahan made the decision not to? Are we really supposed to just accept that "even a broken clock is right twice a day" only in this instance? What if the instances where he was right didn't have anything to do with this?

It seems like the people against this move would want it to happen just so it could fail miserably in real time and they could stop worrying about being annoyed by people wanting it to happen.

Reliance on rookies and inexperienced players is, in part, why we are in this position. We are relying too much on players with low draft capital to come in and play valuable snaps.

That's just the reality the team finds itself in because of past mistakes. Nothing is going to change that reality in the short-term.
