The trade down crowd acts like trading up for a QB in a future draft will be easy. If there is a QB worthy of trading up for, do you guys really believe a QB needy team at the top of the draft is going to trade the pick?  Would Cincy have taken 2 first round picks for the right to draft Burrow? What would it have taken to get the right to draft Luck, or dare I say T Law, which would have sunk the franchise that traded for him for years when he did not turn out to be this generational QB. It is all a gamble because no QB is a sure thing. I would rather gamble when it does not jeopardize the franchise in future drafts. You have to be extremely lucky to be able to trade up for a franchise QB, and the only reason that happens is if he comes with question marks. KC got lucky with Mahomes.......case and point.........he came with?????????????

Hell, for that matter, what did we try to trade a few years ago to get Stroud when the Texans ended up sticking and picking?

NFL Rookie Watch

@NFLRookieWatxh

Cam Ward is reportedly “highly favored” as the first overall pick as of now within the Titans front office. Many NFL scouts reportedly believe Ward’s game is “comparable” to that of an early Russell Wilson. With some scouts believing Ward to be a “better prospect” than Kyler Murray and Bryce Young were coming out of college. The Titans will reportedly do “extensive homework” on Shedeur Sanders, but are very keen on Ward as of now. The Hurricanes QB looks SPECIAL

Is this account credible at all?

Did you typo on that @ name or are they an obvious fake because of that name?

Yeah guys come out of nowhere or fall off (look at Daniels, Burrow and Carson Beck if one wants a negative example).

They are in the best position to get a qb now. If they pass it’s because they don’t feel the guys in this class are worth the #1

pick.

he may not be worth the #1 pic...kinda feels like we already know that but he's a QB and if you want him you have to draft him regardless of what position you have him ranked at.  He's gonna be off the board very quickly after you pass on him.

my point is I can see a scenario ( and I don't think it's that much of a stretch) where the Titans want to trade out and acquire pics...but that's a big if and plan "B" is to stay put and take the QB with the #1 pic.

I get ranking guys and sticking to your board when you are later in the draft because you got no idea what's gonna happen in front of you and you need to be prepared if your guy you covet gets picked right before your pic.  It can happen fast.

But we got the first pic and while you should evaluate the QBs on their own you still are weighing that against what direction you want to steer the organization.   The value of having that 1st pick with QB needy teams behind you makes a difference....even if you love one of the QBs you should still be prepared for what you will do if some team offers you a great trade offer and I think that requires you to have some idea what is the value of future draft pics.

I don't think they're a "fake" account per se - I think they're just amateur speculators and sometimes make stuff up. Cory Curtis retweeted the account and they have been pretty active this draft cycle.

There's an old account with the original name that is long inactive, thus the "x" in the name instead of "c"

But we need a qb.  That’s the crux of it .  The potential picks from other teams w/trade offers doesn’t matter.  If we grade this guy as franchise qb material than the future picks or future qbs don’t matter.  We are taking him.

If we don’t , and this goes for if they sign someone like Darnold in FA, that’s when the trading down comes into play.

Yeah, that's why for the trade you have to get a haul. You weigh that against what you feel the player is. I don't even think what I was suggesting for a tradeout would be enough. But if everyone on our side is pretty down on Cam/SS/whomever.. then listening to offers like that will and should occur.

For instance, if we feel like Cam was the 7th talent in last years draft, then he's the level of a guy they can get as the 3rd QB most years and its not as scary to miss out.. nor as hard to trade up when needed.

The ammo also helps for current player trades and is more enticing for FA acquisitions.

I do think we will select him. But the options need to include multiple firsts(probably 3) and a few other high picks.

Next year is irrelevant right now. Too many things can happen between then and now.

The decision isn't wait till 2026 to get a QB. It's is Ward worth taking #1 i.e. does he grade out. If the answer is no you move onto other plans.

Thats exactly why this team will always be stuck and 1 step behind. Every economic argument and smart team development is about planning ahead and I dont think Ive ever seen this team do it once.

Time legitimately amazed anyone does more than shrug when an account bearing that name says anything. People are weird.

well I think there is a significant risk with drafting any of these QBs with the #1 pic...especially on a team void of talent and draft pics...you can grade them out as franchise guy but only an idiot would still not recognize the risk involved.  We are not dealing with a no questions asked #1 pic QB..we know that.

potential trades absolutely matter...the teams that are offering those trades matter...next years draft matters.

they will sign a QB before the draft...I think that is a given unless they actually think that Levis is still an option...god help us all

The other risk part of that is if the qb you draft at #1 hits ,  the rewards are immense .  You can basically do a worst to first turnaround almost .  Although the odds are pretty low in general in terms of this happening in the rookie season.

Cam is certainly the type that can play Day 1, but if Borgonzi uses the Mahomes playbook of sitting Year 1 it’s understandable.

I'd kind of expect it really, if they are looking at a vet QB.  Mahomes has said he didn't know how to read a defense until his 2nd year.  But thing is, who would be the vet QB they bring in?  I haven't even looked yet at the candidates.  Not talking about spending a wad on Darnold either.

Brinker sat down for an interview with "Ramon, Kayla, and Will" on 104.5 The Zone on Wednesday morning.

While fielding a series of questions that every Titans fan wants an answer to, Brinker made an interesting and surprising comment regarding Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis.

"It’s the most important position in football. The most important position in sports, really. It’s really key we get that right," said Brinker about the quarterback situation moving forward. "Obviously, we have Will Levis here. We got to continue to see him develop and grow. He’s gonna get an opportunity to compete for a starting job next year, but at the same time we gotta do our due diligence on that position as well, whether that’s in free agency or the upcoming draft."
